DR TCB, I taped that Osborne interview with Betty Hutton, but I stupidly did not label the box I put the tape in (I have hundreds of tape boxes) or add it to my videotape roster, so I'm just going to have to stumble across it one of these days in order to see it again (and make you a copy if I ever find it before TCM broadcasts it again.) It was a very sad, sad, interview.

Oh, have to concur re: Connie Francis. On a satellite service about eight years ago, there was a concert from some casino in New Jersey. Connie gave it her best, but there's not much left. Memories are better. She had an operation on her sinuses or some such, and it really took her voice away (shades of Julie Andrews). And she did most of the show sitting on a stool, the few times she moved around she got out of breath very quickly....and the poor girl sang a LOT of fast songs!

Anyway, Dick Clark was there and it was great to see that reunion, but Connie's talent is no longer what it was....we can rest easy though knowing that her father George Franconero negotiated some good tough contracts, and she is really too rich to worry about it.

And we do have her movies. DR of younger age...a major film studio MGM - built at least four lightweight musical movies around Connie Francis and her talent.... My favorite is "Looking for Love."

You are right, Ozzie does have one of those faces, but then, so did Ted Bundy.

My favorite Connie Francis movie is Where the Boys Are with not one, but two stars that are no longer working.

MGM took GIRL CRAZY and refashioned it around Connie Francis and the luscious Harve Presnell. I knew it was going to be a modernized GIRL CRAZY, so imagine my surprise when a few minutes into the movie Connie bellowed out "Mail Call." Not a Gershwin classic, but a good song for her voice.

Argh! I meant to mention above that the Francis/Presnell movie I was talking about was WHEN THE BOYS MEET THE GIRLS, the updated GIRL CRAZY. Mickey and Judy had NOTHING to worry about (and even theirs wasn't exactly true to the original stage show).

WEL (unless someone else has commented on your post), here at my work, I have to log in EVERY day. It's because the computer people where I work have security measures set up that prevent certain things from being saved...cookies and passwords, included. I don't know exactly how it works, but that would be my guess. You may not have a choice in the matter. I just keep signing in each day, knowing that it's to protect the entire computer system from being hacked.

Well DR MATT H is right and that it is sad to see this little old lady in clothes that don't fit and out of style glasses....but what is good is to hear from her what she's been through, and to see that she is the same Betty....just older.

I have found my copy MATT H so I will make a copy for TCB...it also has INCENDIARY BLONDE on it....TCB do you want the movie, too?

Nobody here has to worry, because our site has the jiggiest people who are both bright AND respectful. Other sites are not so lucky, hence we should be able to vote off certain types of posters. I ate luncheon at the Cheesecake Factory - I had the fried shrimp scatter - way too many teeny fried shrimp, a whole mess o' fries and a little cup of clam chowder. It was good but now I'm full and uncomfortable and I want to vomit on the ground.

Hooooooooly Guacamole, things were hoppin' around here last night! Congratulations to one and all, hopefully that sort of thing will stick around (Actually, maybe not TOO hopefully...it was a TON of reading.)

I have indeed read the notes, but I don't have time to read all of the posts, because I have to be at work soon, and I don't want to risk not being able to post.

CD: "Mozart Makes You Smart"...I stole it from my little sister, I couldn't sleep last night. BUT, I got a 99 on my Algebra test today, so maybe it helped!

DVD: Bend It Like Beckham...I like this movie...it's not GREAT, and the storyline is getting kind of repetitive, but overall it's a lot of fun.

Tape: Tape player is busted and it eating my tapes. SO annoying.

We started choreography in show choir today! It's not GREAT, because my teacher is doing it, and she's not incredibly choreography-talented, but it's cute, and slowly coming together. We're doing a Jazz version of "Carol of the Bells", and it's SO MUCH FUN! I get to slide and scoop a lot, and the song sounds great.

The school play, Dracula, started this weekend. HOPEFULLY I'm not working tomorrow night, and I can go see it, because I wasn't able to last night. If I'm not working, I'm going to give DR Laura II a call and maybe we can go together. I MISS HER! I heard the show was awesome, really nicely put together, and I'm friends with all of the cast members. Should be buckets of fun

I was so impressed with the Accordian player at Benjamin's "Bar Mitzvah" being able to play "Where The Boys Are" It would have only just have made radio air play. It did not chart nationally until January. I wonder if the guy is still working. Perhaps he had an amazing "ear". The Connie Francis topic led me here! The opening notes of the song always sound like "April Love" is about to start.

LOL Ron. When I was 14 my older sister returned from college with a really neat trick she tried to teach me. The first part of the trick was to eat all I wanted, which I was pleased to do. Then she showed me how to loose all that food quickly, only to begin the eating process again. To this day I am thankful for my lack of skill in that area-the loosing part. Unfortunately I did continue the second and third round of eating with her. I still remember how sick I was by the end of the day.

Cousin TCB - LOL! I never noticed the resemblance before, I don't know what I was thinking. You didn't scare me away, I refuse to stay in the office one minute past five on a Friday and had to go home! Actually, my relatives are picky and stay in a hotel when they come because they think my apartment is too small. I only have one couch and floor space for guests, but they all say I am a very good host. I feed my guests nonstop.

I am very fond of entertaining people who visit NYC, but I'd still rather have an H/K party in Hawaii!
