I just found out that a small thing I'm accompanying next Tuesday evening at a musical theatre training organization will include a piece from The Cradle Will Rock and a scene or two from The Pirates of Penzance. What a refreshing change of pace! Seriously. I don't know these people, but I like them already. And apparently the jernt has a very good reputation anyhoo.
Love, love, love Cradle and Penzance both.
Just got the music. They're doing the song from
Cradle ("That's thunder, that's lightning..."). And from
Pirates: "Climbing over rocky mountain", "Stop, ladies, pray!", "Oh, is there not one maiden breast" and "Poor wandering one". The one musical theatre concession will be Wildhorn's "When I look at you".
