I seem to be grieving my losses longer than most.

I look forward to a day when I sob less than 5 hours/day.

It surprises me when people tell me that I should be over it by now.

It always surprises me when people make comments like that.  Truly, it hasn't been very long.  DR Iris, I don't think you are grieving your losses longer than most, just that your coping abilities are understandably fragile at the moment.    Sending hugs.

So true.

Garbanzo beans, specifically.

I would prefer other beans ;)

It turns out that the small fridge where the whipped cream can was kept, froze the can of whipped cream, so that the whipped cream couldn't be dispensed onto our fake pastries!

Sorry for laughing ;D

Oh my god.

I'm going through the stack of clothes I'd laid out MONTHS ago to donate -- and I am shocked, shocked, to find that they were obviously all bought by mistake, for some damn kid half my size.

What's really weird is that there are a couple of things I didn't even recognize. Oy! Well, I probably wouldn't recognize mine own self in a photo wearing them, either. Have I had two lives, one of them thin? Don't bother, I already know the answer to that:  Yes.

I need to throw these things into a box once and for all, and take them somewhere. Either that, or set fire to them.

;D

DR John G., I know how Texans feel about beans in their chili, but what about beans in their tacos?

In Weird Austin maybe

DR Iris, post any time; I feel this place is a great repository and comfort-source for whatever is going on in people’s lives.
And I’ll echo what others have said. Time helps, but there’s no timeline for what you’re feeling. And don’t let anyone make you feel differently.

I never understood the issue with beans in chili. Can we just call it something else and still enjoy the yummy bean-filled concoction.
Why are there a thousand different kinds of pie but chili’s got rules?

DR IRIS - grief is too personal for another to really understand.

If you live near a nice Alternative shop - you might see if they have a stone called the Apache Tear.  It is a form of Obsidian, a black stone, shaped like a tear.

Carrying it or using it in meditation can be helpful.

I'll be going now.

DR George: their way is too fraught with pitfalls. They must revert to Plan B: buy fresh French pastries for every rehearsal/performance.

Even better, hire a French pastry chef from France to make them in the wings. Why take chances?

Sounds like a plan, ChasSmith!  So, will you be making the first financial contribution so that I can hire said French pastry chef??

;)

From DR George:

But it's black, which did make me have to think about which black car in the parking lot was my loaner. :-\
There are just too damed many!

;D  I have images of you walking around the parking lot pressing the lock button on your key remote and looking to see which black car flashes its lights.

Fortunately, it's a fairly small parking lot, so that wouldn't have been too difficult.

They look like the black stones I see in stores that sell stones, the ones I like to roll in my hands but never buy.  Now I know why I am attracted to them.
