My first pho experience was in an Oakland eatery I really enjoyed. I would usually order the clay pot as it was a total delight. The Clay Pot meal featured crab meat and Asian veggies, rice and just the right mix of spices.
So, I wondered, what would the pho be like?
Six-alarm fire from the first taste. It had only hit my tongue before I realized I was in deep trouble. Lots of water was consumed, and I did manage to eat a sufficient amount of the noodles (once extracted from the killer soup) to satisfy my hunger, most of which was put off by the heat. My pho curiousity was satisfied.
I have a favorite pho I now order from Amazon on a three-month basis (recurring order). I prepare it from provided ingredients and control how much heat, if any, goes into it.
Amazon has many different pho offerings, but the one I like is the Instant Pho Beef/Chicken Combo Pack of 4 / Authentic Vietnamese Soup/Pholicious Brand,
I first encountered this on QVC and ordered from there. But it's also on Amazon, and that is where I get it now.
