Just knocked off one of the movies on my list:  The Conversation. 

I hadn't watched it in maybe a decade, and this time was, first and foremost, for seeing and appreciating Cindy Williams.

But oh man, this is right at the top of the heap with the best of the 1970s paranoia films. Pakula had his paranoid trilogy, and Hollywood had its paranoid DECADE. There has never been another period of time like it.

If only Hollywood of the 1970s could have seen what it was to become half a century later...

I just realized that I have the same problem.  I'd ordered the new Broadway cast recording of Parade, and Amazon shows that it was delivered on Tuesday, but it's not anywhere!

We have been watching Happy Valley on Acorn TV. It's very dark. Kind of like Fargo, in a way. Things keep going wrong.

I'm still not quite sure what is going to happen.  But they said it's free to me.

What’s working about Creed III is Jonathan Majors, who unfortunately turned out to be too close to his character in real life. But he isn’t boxed in (pardon the pun) by the iconography of the role. Jordan has to be hero and underdog both. And he’s more sumbol than human.

Still it’s not a bad movie.

I will also say that Michael B. Jordan’s physique is quite impressive.

So, if we are to believe the MTG’s of the world, the Republicans who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6 are fine citizens who should be lauded for their attempt to overthrow the government. Yet the woman sentenced today to 8 years is trans, which means she’s not worthy of anything but disdain. What gives?

So I have started Battling Butler, a Buster Keaton film that also has boxing in it.

It’s a silent movie based on a musical. The songwriters probably weren’t too happy about that.
