DR Rodzinski: I don't know if you remember Siriano's partner in one of the challenges - a guy named Chris March who specialized in outrageous drag couture in the Bay Area, IIRC.
March and Siriano did two looks that blew the judges away, one of which had a huge constructed collar.
Chris March died a few years ago.
In Mondo's season, there was a guy everybody seemed to hate. His name is Michael Costello. Michael, unlike the rest, had no formal training. He was self-taught. He didn't cut patterns. He draped his fabric.
In some of the challenges, he would create four or five different looks until he was happy with one. All the rest of the designers would struggle to complete one look. And Michael would usually finish in the top three or simply win a challenge outright.
In one notable challenge, Mondo was partnered with Michael. He let Michael know he had reservations about working with him. End result, however, was the Mondo found out Michael was a natural, gifted designer and they ended up winning the challenge and becoming fast friends.
