Cillaliz your new avatar is very cute.  Are you going to be eating while waiting in the lobby for us?

JRand thanks for delivery the message from JMK.  I’m not too concerned since we have an approximate time set.

Ron please give the amazing Miss Vickie a kiss from me.

Jennifer I like spoilers for two reasons, one if it is something I watch I can be warned not to read if I haven’t seen the show, and I’m warned not to read if it is a show I don’t watch.

MBarnum San Clemente is very nice.  I’m enjoying reading about your trip.

Awesome news to report- I was just offered a part-time job at Gay Men's Health Crisis, the agency where I've been interning (and before that a volunteer) this past year.

They offered me the position without asking me to interview and told me a full-time position would be available in the future when I graduate from school.  I have to admit, this feels fabulous on the heels of my not so spectactular exit from the evil mouse.

TPunk, that's fantastic!

The house sitters should arrive early tomorrow and then we will be off.  I’m looking forward to seeing Bryan.  If I’m really lucky  he will sell his car before we leave Portland.

We spoke to Craig today-even had a clear connection.  He was in his brand new apartment in a brand new building in Bucharest.  He was tired though as they (Craig and his girlfriend) had spent most of yesterday and the evening with his friend who just had an appendectomy.  Fortunately the friend was visiting Craig in the big city and not the little town he moved to after leaving the Peace Corps (just got out like Craig did).  Craig’s cat made the move just fine, didn’t mind the long car ride at all and was happily exploring her new home.

Off to pack and finish some work around the house.  TCB it looks like I will miss your weekend report, please email me with the news.

Congrats, TPunk!!! I have a friend who's temping at GMHC. Her name is Michelle - she's very sweet. Tell her hi for me. :)

TCB: It's not even that I won't let them stay...they're just not there to begin with! :(

I'm leaving from Omaha at 4:30pm tomorrow and should arrive in Portland around 7:00pm or something like that.  That is assuming the thunderstorms they are predicting here hold off long enough for us to get up in the air.

Things have been totally insane at work lately so I'm really looking forward to getting out of town for a few days.

Actually, there is someone for whom I have a MAJOR crush. A Greek. That's all I'm going to say, but suffice it to say, I think the Greek just wants to be friends.

Minor discussion about tonight's BIG BROTHER 6 show:

There were a few interesting things that happened on tonight's show that I did not know.

One, James was able to help Sarah in the veto comp.

Two, James swore on the bible to ivette that if he became HOH he would nom Howie/Rachel.  Then after the veto comp told her (ivette) he changed his mind and would nominate maggie (AND THIS IS BEFORE HE KNEW IF IVETTE et al WILL WIN HOH).

Btw, if we are allowed to vote someone back in I AM ALSO VOTING FOR KAYSAR (assuming cbs.com allows votes outside the US).

Btw, pretty good show tonight.

I'm hoping that's what we can do, I'll vote for him too. On the CBS BB site, he's the most popular of all the house guests, so who knows....

I can't believe Kaysar is only 24. He looks older than that to me.  Maybe just because I'm older but don't know it yet!

It simply amazes me how small-world the internet has made this planet of ours.  It isn't the six degrees aspect, but that we can learn of the connections so much faster now.

Haha...who knew there'd be so much speculation regarding my Greek?? It's not Yanni...and sadly, it's not Alex Dimitriades. Or is it? ;)

I don't think you guys would know my Greek - but you may recognize the Greek's name in a few years!

This will be the fourth version of the film
Invasion of the Body Snatchers1956
Invasion of the Body Snatchers1973
Body Snatchers1998
Invasion of the Body Snatchers2006

Has there ever been a movie remade more than three times?

The first one that popped in my mind was THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES.

Cases could also be made for THE THREE MUSKETEERS and DRACULA and HAMLET.

I didn't get to see a second of BB6 tonight. I was madly trying to finish up HOLLYWOOD REVUE of 1929 before RESCUE ME came on. (The DVR got RENO 911! which I'll see tomorrow).

I had forgotten that the "Orange Blossom Time" production number right before the finale was also in two strip Technicolor. The green tutus showed up well, but the orange was more pink than orange.

I read in A VOICE IN THE DARK that at the LA and NYC engagements, ushers would spray orange scent in the air during "Orange Blossom Time." An early version of Smellovision!  :D

RESCUE ME had another excellent ensemble dramatic episode. The gay characters are especially appealing to me (especially since we're losing the two drama shows with recurring gay characters this month - SIX FEET UNDER and QUEER AS FOLK). The father of one of them is the fire chief and is having a terrible time accepting that his son is gay.
