We had a scare with our AC yesterday, one of the hottest and most humid days of the summer. We determined at about 6pm that the AC was not running and the thermostat was unresponsive. Fortunately our extended family includes our HVAC guys, so they were here almost immediately and fixed the problem. The AC ran continuously until about 4am to finally cool the house back down.

Frigidaire has the "d", but that is a brand name and not the generic name for the icebox itself.Euphemistically, many folks reference "the Fridge", but that was almost based on the brand name rather than generic "refrigerator."
