We had a scare with our AC yesterday, one of the hottest and most humid days of the summer.  We determined at about 6pm that the AC was not running and the thermostat was unresponsive.  Fortunately our extended family includes our HVAC guys, so they were here almost immediately and fixed the problem.  The AC ran continuously until about 4am to finally cool the house back down.

You are very lucky to get a quick response, and they were able to fix it.

That was a weird show. I enjoyed it. I followed the gist of the story, although I couldn't understand many of the jokes. The sound system is so bad.

DR John how is your mother's bronchitis?

Slightly better. She sees her doctor next week. Thanks for asking.

Get your cat their own computer, so you can get some work done.

So cute!

I got a cheap kit on Amazon to test for my blood type. I used to know it, but have forgotten. Then I'll fill out a "File of Life" template to hang on the icebox.

Icebox. That's what they're still calling it, right? I avoid the "R" word because I can never remember the right way to spell it. D? No D?

I just call it a frig ;)

Jane, every time I see you use that spelling, I think of the "real" meaning:

LOL, guess I need to spell it fridge.

That would make me feel better. ;)

But that makes it longer ;)

Still shorter than "refrigerator."

Ellen Fitzhugh has died. She wrote the fascinating Herringbone with Fred’s Skip.

After the show, we're having a cast party at the director's house, so I won't be back before the end of today.

Refrigerator does not have "d" in it.  Frigidaire has the "d", but that is a brand name and not the generic name for the icebox itself.

Euphemistically, many folks reference "the Fridge", but that was almost based on the brand name rather than generic "refrigerator."

Interesting that she died in July, but the article is only now published.
