I was watching QVC last night -- In the Kitchen With David.
They had Blackstone griddles, and the lady doing the (so-called) "presentation" was named Betty. David referenced her throughout as "Blackstone Betty."
I got the distinct impression from the sales pitch that QVC was clearing its warehouse of the particular model being sold. Betty (Blackstone Betty, that is) was slapping stuff onto the grill, left and right. It was the most gosh-awful combination of foods imaginable, from my point of view. The griddle was covered...every square inch loaded down with stuff I wouldn't feed my worst enemy. She called something "Tachos"...which seemed to be an assemblage of soft taco shells, overcooked hashbrowns, very dry looking eggs and some bacon that looked a bit ripe.
Added to that, her hair seemed to have been recently abandoned by a family of crows.
I made some appropriate comments to the In The Kitchen With David live feed on Facebook. Nothing personal against Blackstone Better other than to say I'd seen more interesting foods at street fairs in the bins.
