I went to Walgreen's and bought two gift cards for my brother-in-law's birthday party on Saturday....

I got $25 from Starbucks and $25 from Subway......both places he frequents regularly.

One "musical" (I use the term loosely) I wanted to flee from, but was obligated to sit through and greet people afterward, was a "performance" (I use the term loosely) of something called Macbeth 2000. It was around that same time period. Actually, I think it was sometime around the turn of the millennium. And I think a millennium was about the running time of it.

An upcoming play that I hope I DON'T feel like fleeing is the Deane-Halderston Dracula. I've never seen it done, nor has there been a production of it around here, that I know of, in my 30+ years here. It'll be at our tiniest local theeder, where I've seen a number of very good plays -- but also, as it happens, an unfortunate production of The Fantasticks, the only musical I recall seeing there. It'll be an interesting time, whatever happens.
