Or …, no…a worse punishment….force them to  walk from passenger drop off to the last gate, and back, carrying a 20 lb “personal item” and dragging a 50 lb carryon with a wonky wheel, terminal by terminal, for the rest of their days, may they be many and long.

DR Vixmom it sounds as if you need a new bag with wheels that work correctly.

I wanted to leave a couple of shows. Promised myself that I would leave at intermission, then there was no intermission.

Had my weekly Zoom chat this afternoon, and Marshall Harvey, BK's editor, joined us from his hotel in Rome.  He is staying at Hotel Fellini.  He also took us into the 8 1/2 Bar where he got a glass of wine.  He later showed us the Trevi Fountain...and the thousands of tourists making access to it for coin tossing relatively impossible.

I had no idea your Zoom chats were so interesting.

I thought the Fountain was crowded when we were there.

I lived in Italy 1973-75 and 1987-1992.  I visited Rome many times during those years, and there were always tourists...but I never saw as many as there were at the Trevi Fountain yesterday.  I was always able to walk right up and look into the fountain...saw all the coins.  Marshall was unable to get within 15 feet of it yesterday.  Throngs of folks there.

A couple of friends of mine just got back from a European vacation, and they posted pictures of themselves at the fountain.  There were crowds, but not 15 feet deep!

We were there on a Sunday and it was rather crowded, though I believe we were able to get closer than this photo.

Concerned about my friend in Israel I asked if she had a shelter room.  Read her response.

"Yes we do. However, the problem is that you cannot lock them from the inside. They were designed to protect people from rockets. The only way to keep the terrorists from opening the reinforced steel door is to use all your strength to hold the handle so the terrorists can't turn it and open the door. I guess now someone will come up with a way to lock them. You see the picture. To open, you move the handle up and to the right. So you need to prevent that by using all your strength to keep someone from doing that. An extended family member did that for the 2.5 HOURS that terrorists were in their house and saved his family. Soldiers killed the terrorists."

Allergies are off the chart today - I've asked someone to get me the twenty-four hour Claritin-D as the twelve-hours just aren't as potent. I took one an hour ago and it's barely kicked in yet.
