Like DR Ginny, I am up to my ears in tossing old papers and such. After my friend and neighbor Zen died the family arrived immediately and began sorting through tons of all sorts. They did a great job, but didn’t have time to get through it all. They gave me four boxes of photos, much of it Hollywood memorabilia. I’d been going through all that, but there was also a storage locker in the carport with many more boxes. About a month ago I told the manager it was slow going. She said something like, “I don’t need the locker right away. Take another couple months.” Then last Monday she notified me that she told the gardener to clear it out on Tuesday. What??!! I negotiated another 2 weeks, but I’ve learned she can’t be trusted. She has a lousy memory and fails to write things down. Granted, nothing I’ve come across in the locker has had any real value, but there’s a lot of thrift store donations. I’m frugal and don’t like to see people toss things that someone could use. God knows there are plenty of people struggling these days.
