The earliest I ever saw a microwave oven in someone else's house was when I was a senior in high school ('83-'84 school year). I don't remember when my parents got one.

I first saw a microwave in the early 1970s. A coworker of Dad’s got one and she was anxious to show it off. She made hamburgers. They tasted raw to us.
