I was glad I went because I got to see DRs Vixmom and Ben, too, of course.
I loved all the posts about chance meetings with old friends.Of course I think DR JANE's shopping cart crash with Susan Gordon is the best.....but DR GEORGE's at Disney is a close second.
I do wish Ben would return.
Cinco!
And beautiful trio of HHWers.
One could also simply add oregano to regular potato chips oneself.
One time after I’d lived in NY a couple years, I was walking in the east village and a girl is walking towards me and our eyes meet and our jaws dropped. She had lived in the apartment below me in Athens, GA during college. Boy, you couldn’t erase the smile off my face for the next day or so, it was such a fun little unexpected reunion.
If I’m in the mode where I’m eating chips, I do like Potato Stix.
My “running into” story isn’t as fun as all of yours, but it was a surprise. Many years ago a friend and I wanted a break from work and drove up to Yosemite. Here we were, hiking, an 8-hour drive from LA, when who do I run into? A coworker whose office was only 20 feet from my own! And I wanted a break from work!
First impressions of Here We Are:The Sondheim Game is in full play. When a character criticizes the rest of the cast in song, it comes off as Henrick in A Weekend in the Country. Echoes of Putting It Together, A Little Priest, songs from Company, Follies and Bounce/Road Show, all in his voice. It’s not a derivative score, but there are welcome echoes of other works.
The lyrics may not be his best, but they are often fun, verbally dexterous, playful. Second tier Sondheim is still better than most people’s best.
Have I blathered enough?
