I just lost it on the phone with HRA. I cannot get a real person on the phone to answer my inquiries about Medicaid, I cannot get a confirmation about their receiving my faxed documents, and I can goddamned sick of beaurocratic incompetence.

Re Janet Maslin - it was about the only bum review we got and it was pretty clear to our publicist that she was trying to establish herself and she used us as her whipping boy. Even back then, people knew what she was doing. I don't think she ever went back to it.

Conveniently located near us is a little freeway entrance that only goes one way.  The larger entrance and exit is farther down the road.  While we still need to take the longer way home we appreciate this little entrance that saves us time when we drive that way, as we do to go to the gym and other errands.

As you approach it doesn't look at all like a freeway entrance, plus after going under the old stone bridge it curves to the right making it a bit difficult to know for sure where you are going the first time you drive it.

You can see the warning sign on the right showing the heighth restrictions on the bridge.  Prior to that there is a sign saying no trucks.

As we passed that entrance on our way home from the gym today we saw a BIG truck stuck under the bridge.  As we passed the street from the entrance side we turned to see what it looked like down there. (There is a business parking lot we could go through without getting in the way). Lots of police cars and a big mess.

I wish we could have taken a photo.

Aside from missing the warning signs, it is such an awkward entrance and obvious that a long truck would not be able to easily, if at all, make the right turn onto the on ramp.

Dang!  I hope the truck is OK and the bridge will remain intact after the removal!  It's very cute

Throughout New York state, we saw signs telling truck drivers to be aware of how high (or low) the overpasses are. Guess they’re needed everywhere.
