And now for my Bear King news.

A friend's brother passed away and he has to go out of town, so his role that is scheduled to be filmed on Saturday - for the PBS series A Generation At War - has been offered to me.

I snapped it up.  It is a non speaking role in which I as the President of the Indiana Delegation react to the ramblings of A.C. Stevenson, whoever that is - although I know the actor playing him.

I do not think they had the EYEROLL in 1861, but we shall see what happens.

Three hours of filming on Saturday morning - just the two of US!  I may get a close up!

Have fun. And my condolences to your friend.

I have my passport renewal all set to take to the post office.  I hate that in order to renew a perfectly good passport has to be sent along with the paperwork and money leaving one stranded without a passport.

Tecnically you are not permitted to travel internationally six month prior to the expiration date, it really expires sooner than the date on the passport.

That six month time period would be cutting it close for me as we hope to travel around then.  As a result I am renewing my passport 14 month prior to the expiration date  ::)

Ghost pepper wasn't even known as a thing until a year ago. Apparently, on TikTok, there was a ghost pepper challenge, where idiots ate the spice in spoonfuls. We really have turned into a nation of almost complete morons - present company excluded, of course.

Regretfully, I must correct DR Jrand73 on one detail.

I guess I fall somewhere between the majority of y’all and DR John G. when it comes to spicy food. I definitely like it, but not to extremes.

In Mexican food, a little jalapeño is fine but I don’t want it overwhelming a dish, partly because I don’t love the flavor itself. A medium or medium-hot salsa or pico de gallo is ideal. In Chinese, I know to stay away from the little hot peppers. (Are those ghost peppers, or similar?) A touch of Chinese mustard is fine, but only a touch here and there. I don’t know a lot of Thai foods or even Indian foods, but I think I’ve been okay going with people’s suggestions and cautions.

I just read a couple of descriptions of ghost peppers, and I’m amazed that fast food places would even push them so nonchalantly. Based on this discussion, I wouldn’t even try that variety now. FYI, in this house, Kristi can tolerate little more than a taste of anything spicy, while Nathan would probably gobble up those ghost peppers and ask for more.

On a scale of 1 to 10, those dried red peppers are about a 0.5 while ghost peppers are an 11.

Almost nine hours into Barbra. I’m glad I am listening to it because of the recordings of songs that are used.

Burger King has (or recently had) a Ghost Pepper Whopper and as spicy as it is, it's really good.  I don't like things to be too spicy, but maybe because it's fast food, I like the Ghost Pepper Whopper.

Santos and Trump are standard bearers for the New GOP: corrupt, lying con artists, grifters, thieves, hypocrites, and whores.

In his Santos defense scumbag Matt Gaetz's voice rises the more agitated he gets. At this moment only dogs can hear him.
