Well, you've read the notes, the notes opened, and now it is time for you to post until the garage cows come home.

I slept well. I had a very strange dream that I was supervising a crew restoring an old house. There was a vampire in the basement and some other ghoulish figure I cannot remember moving about the house. It was all rather silly and macabre rather than being a terrifying nightmare.

This morning I am meeting my ballet colleague Doug, who's in town from Seattle this week, for breakfast. He was a guest lecturer last night at the Lincoln Center Performing Arts Library.

We might be getting a Christmas tree this afternoon. We’ll have to clear a place for it, which will be a bit of a challenge. But it won’t be a huge one this time.

The Holdovers yesterday was rather incredible. A real movie, about people? Made for adults? What is this world coming to?

A gracious good Saturday morning to all of you.

The sky is rather gloomy, but we have been awaiting major rain storms for two days and, thus far, nothng has happened.  Last night, one of the weather guessers suggested we might miss out altogether despite prognostications from three major weather services.

That reminds me of snow predictions when I was in high school.  If they ever predicted snow, we never got it.

I am sleeping extraordinarily well these days.

Yesterday was my first "fully functional" day of the week since my colonoscopy.  The drugs they used had a lingering after-effect that made me feel a bit out of sorts.  It did pass, however.

It has been a most strange and unusual week in that, until this morning, I seemed to be a day behind whatever day it actually was.  I blame the colonoscopy for that. I do.  It is so convenient to do so.

Don't try to talk me out of it.

I need to tackle Christmas cards this weekend.

I generally prefer having them in the mail by December 1st, but this year just doesn't feel  "Christmassy" enough to bother.

Things certainly look like Christmas around these parts.  Folks seem to enjoy decorating.

I used to, but that impulse has abandoned me the past couple of Christmases.  I don't know if it's my age or the loss of very close relatives who won't be here to share it.

I suspect the latter.

I like non-carby breakfast foods. No toast, no potatoes, and only seldom a pancake.
