What is the Travolta connection?

It’s weird being the same age as old people

I gave Bruce two boxes of old Hollywood photos taken by my late neighbor. Lots of celebrities — Bob Hope, Debbie Reynolds, Tom Selleck, plus lots of people I didn’t recognize. There were several of John Travolta, too. Bruce felt that John Travolta would like to have them, as he’s probably never seen them, and they are being passed on to him.

That's pretty cool, Jeanne.

It bugs me the way so many people think that because something is old it has no value. I love old things and even little things can be meaningful to someone. Going through my late neighbor’s stuff is quite a project, but I’ll just do it as I can.

Good luck, Jeanne!

I know a couple of people who think that all old things have great monetary value. ::)

"Value" can be defined in different ways, but no, not all old things have great monetary value...sadly.

DR Jeanne, I have been so grateful during our downsizing that our son and daughter-in-law have wanted so much of our stuff.  They sent a photo of their Thanksgiving dinner, which they ate at a table that belonged to my grandmother using china that belonged to my mother.

That's so sweet, Ginny!

Settling in with Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Hitchcock was right. He has no great flair for screwball comedy. But Carole Lombard is divine.

Robert Montgomery is fairly good too but the script is lame.

Loved The Nutcracker last night. Live orchestra with some really good dancing.

She’s admirable. I loved her stories about Ingmar Bergman, who wanted her to star in a film version of The Merry Widow. Strange but true.
