Went to see Wonka this evening. Figured the kids might enjoy it. They did. Me? Well my expectations were low, but I did like the Paddington movies so gave it a shot. Chalamet was ok, inoffensive but missing the wit and menace. Still better than Depp’s Wonka, one of the worst performances ever.

All told I’d give it a B. Weird that they used some of the Newley-Bricusse songs or at least the music.

I kind of want to see it, but in the couple of clips that I had seen (granted, they were very short clips), Timothée only had one look on his face and it seemed like he should've been expressing different emotions. $:-\$

Yeah I never saw the dude in a movie before so I don’t know from where he gets his fame, but he didn’t show great range. Not terrible, but not electrifying. Kinda slight.

I haven't seen part one, but I don't doubt that they'll bring that back to the theaters so people can have the "full" Dune experience, since that was released back in 2021.
