These photos of Semsema Mahmoud's cat's first day at the beach put the biggest smile on my face!

So cute!

So guess what!

There was a squall line that crossed the northeast yesterday, and as per usual, there are trees down all over the place. Unfortunately, an old rotted one that was just close enough to hit the house... hit the house. Nothing catastrophic like in 2018, but certainly some damage that needs to be attended to (along with that tale).

I've submitted an insurance claim and ... thank GAWD for knowing this guy ... our contractor friend who's worked on the house before has already been out to start assessing the damage. The insurance wants him to make sure that any place that needs a tarp to keep snow and rain from entering will go up, and he'll be doing that today.

Fun, fun, fun.

Oh, no! :o

...now a 58% chance of snow.

So I will not be doing anything today.....outdoors....still single digits tomorrow but temps in the 20's starting Wednesday.

My weather app says that it's 17°F here in Tumwater right now!  Fortunately, no clouds, so no snow!

Following Friday's TOD repor, I binge-watched the rest of the PAN AM series, and damn, that was a fine show. The 1963/64 vibe is of course always great to see portrayed, but they really tackled some serious issues, and I think it was extremely well written and cast.

But, sadly, not well watched.

The first half of the bathroom cleanup is accomplished. My legs are now shot, so I will do the laundry tomorrow morning.

I dreamt I was a doctor aboard a cruise ship. Thankfully I had no patients. Or patience.

You weren't assisting that rascal Dr. Buñuel again, were you?

Knock wood, I have a great contractor friend, and great contractors who are responsive and actually take care of things in a timely manner can be very hard to come by...just about anywhere. I am very fortunate.

OMG, I have news -- news that must be told especially to DR Elmore!

You're simply not going to believe it.

This all happened rather suddenly right at the end of December... I never planned for it myself, it was presented to me at the last minute when the local groups were about to announce their 2024 seasons...

Don't laugh. You might cry, but try not to laugh. In November/December 2024, at one of our local 100+ seat theeders, I will be music-directing

(wait for it)

Once Upon a Mattress.

I really hardly know it -- I mean, well enough to actually consider doing it myself. So I have much to learn in the coming months. And much planning to do, for a venue in which I can - at best - fit 6 or 7 musicians, me being one of them.

Sorry about your house, DR ChasSmith.
