It wasn't for me on my phone after I clicked (tapped) on it.  The biggerized version displayed the right way.

There were machines where you put quarters in and a little plastic container drops out with little toys or charms inside.  Inside of one were little charms and other things, plus a fortune.

The first line on the fortune said "Stay away from Republicans"

I would be interested to see if any of the reviews mention that The Minstrel is NOT A minstrel.

Maybe they dropped it to avoid the issue because the performer is an African American and they didn't want people to make that (incorrect) association?

Safely home via plane to Seattle and 3-hour drive from there.

Welcome home.  Is it easier to drive the three hours than to go fly out of Vancouver and go through customs?

Certainly not. Just very much cheaper.

Starting That Uncertain Feeling, an Ernst Lubitsch flick with Merle Oberon, Melvyn Douglas and Burgess Meredith.

I recall liking this but finding Burgess obnoxious.

Certainly that’s the case, but you know, educate the masses, don’t just live in fear of offending them to the point where you can’t say the word “minstrel.”

There’s probably much that would need to be excised from G&S shows since the days my brother dazzled us all as the captain of the Pinafore or my sister played Pitti-Sing at Taft Junior High.

Near our hotel by Legoland there was a museum. The Museum of Making Music.

It was in an office park basically.

When I read they discontinued Fruit Stripe Gum, I was a little sad. It was a nice treat when the parents would buy us kids a pack.

Of course, the flavor would “discontinue” 10 seconds after you started to chew it, but it’s the thought that counts.
