Technically, it is the job of the theatre that is renting the materials to erase the materials before they ship them back to us.  As you can see, that doesn't happen very often, and our materials get turned around and shipped out almost immediately to the next group, so sometimes they become a tad neglected. Next time it happens, please call me and let me know so I can make a note of it in your account to ensure you won't be billed for the damages.

LOL....actually, DRJASON - sometimes I find the notes at least as interesting as the libretto.  Although I LOVE being the first to use a set of materials.....it's so exciting to be the first ones to do so!  ;D

It's happened a couple of times to us....once with JOSEPH (back when you had it) and I think with GUYS AND DOLLS, too.  ;D

The shows with the most markings are, of course, the most popular titles in the catalog. I'd hate to see the quality of our SEUSSICAL books right now (that was our No. 1 seller last year). I can pretty much guarantee, though, that the books for CAROLINE, OR CHANGE will be pristine for several years. ;)

Yes, ça va, Jason, but business is real slow at hotel and, at this time, Paris should be called Rome since Italian seems to be the only language spoken around here! NOT that there's something wrong about it, mind you!

I should not mention that here, but some Italian guests were having some good time last night around 2:00 am; they were speaking some "international" language, if you get my hint, and were VERY loud about it!

I'm hungry (haven't eaten a thing since lunchtime yesterday.  A decision is looming, oh, yes, a decision is looming about what to have to eat.  I'm in the mood for something yummilicious, but don't know if I want to bring something back or to sit somewhere alone.  I hate when no one is available to eat when I want to eat out.

I won a copy of the original After the Ball on eBay not too long ago, but I haven't received it yet.  I think it's the same Sepia release.  The eBay listing didn't specify.  Is the recording itself any good?

About Marge Champion. I just loved her in the MGM musicals. She had a fetching personality, sang rather well, and I always wondered how far she could have gone on her own. I've always loved "Derry Down Dilly."

That said, she was, bar none, the absolute worst thing about that revival of FOLLIES a few years ago. Even with a body mic, you could barely hear her, and her dancing was rather leaden, kind of holding DOnald Saddler from being able to cut loose. I know she was a trouper just being up there at her age, but I wish someone else had been used, even if she wasn't a big name.

That really makes me smile. Last summer, when we came to NYC, one of my friends chose to go to cAROLINE OR CHANGE instead of AVENUE Q. Of course, we all came raving back to the room about AVENUE Q, and he felt obligated to talk about what a masterpiece CAROLINE was, much more so than any puppet show could possibly be. One listen to the cast recording of CAROLINE convinced me I made the right decision.

I would think CAROLINE would be a difficult show to mount and a difficult show to sell to the public.

So is the theater where I did LA CAGE in June. That's why I was listening to the OCR today and this weekend. Scoping out the singing parts to see if there's anything I'd be right for. I never saw it in NYC and was sick when Cathy Rigby came through with the national tour, so I've never seen it.

Here I was all ready to watch TOP HAT (hadn't loaded it), and there was THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW just sitting there, too, so I figured I could dash through a disc of episodes this afternoon and still see TOP HAT before my friend comes over tonight for MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL.

These were second season GRIFFITH episodes (the third season arrived from Amazon in the same box with Astaire-Rogers). ENjoyed the episode with Buddy Ebsen as a hobo whom Opie tries to emulate.
