Am at Costco. I’m having the pizza instead of the usual hotdog. I am not impressed. It’s kinda blah, even with chile flakes.

That's too bad. :-\ I've always liked their pizza.

Maybe it’s the way they make it here.

Lovely.  It is wet and chilly here.  I hope the rain stops before I walk to the clubhouse for my book group discussion.

I was ok with Elvis but not a huge fan like my sister was, until Blue Hawaii.  As much as I liked the movie I was bothered by the lyrics to Almost Always True.

Finished I Confess. Deeply Catholic movie. I can understand why it’s not universally acclaimed, but it really is one of Hitchcock’s better movies, despite some excess Anne Baxter histrionics.

The Cahiers du Cinema writers way back when thought it was his best. I won’t go that far.

John G, you're only 22 posts away from 88888 posts!  I suspect that could be a sign of good luck.

Or maybe it's 21 posts away from 88888 posts that's good luck?

Either way, it bodes well.

Kanopy, the library’s streaming service, now has the first half of the new French version of The Three Musketeers. I have so many other library movies to watch first.

I didn't know about a new film of the Musketeers, so I went to IMDB to look it up. The photos look great, the D'Artagnan very handsome and Milady de Winter quite beautiful, but the posted review sounds is if Dumas' plot wasn't enough for the screenwriters so they added more plots of their own devising. So, I went to check out the second film, and the synopsis doesn't match the second half of Dumas' wonderful novel. I'll stick with Richard Lester's two films.

Sizzler was having a big door dash sale so I ordered the steak and fried shrimp combo and some clam chowder. I can tell you that the steak was as tough as shoe leather and about as tasty. Fried shrimp were okay. Baked potato - can't ruin that. I'm nauseous now.

Thanks for sharing this. What do you think of the movies that preceded it, Rope and Under Capricorn? I have a fondness for these Transatlantic Pictures outings, both because of the family history connection and the interesting use of very long takes.

I hated Under Capricorn the first time I saw it. I liked it much more the second time, but it is flawed by a mediocre script.

Love Rope for the exercise it is. Plus, the best Hitchcock cameo of all.

Shoe leather should be worn, not eaten. We are not Charlie Chaplin.

I have never had their pizza.

You can get just a slice of cheese pizza...no meat...unless you're vegan and not vegetarian.

Google Maps says that it should take 34 minutes, but I want to leave earlier than that in case there's more traffic around Joint Base Lewis McChord.

Rehearsal officially starts at 7:00, but I think I need to be there between 6:30 and 6:45...at least, that's the plan. :)
