I too hate the time change. And I love Vanity Fair. I wasn't scandalized when I read it. Instead I was thoroughly entertained that it could be so scandalous. That book showed me how much fun classics could be. Trollope's The Eustace Diamonds is equally fun in a similar way.

George, thanks for the news on Barry Manilow. I probably can't afford tickets. Too bad I don't usher there.

Well, I accept NO responsibility for BK ordering and subsequently eating a chicken enchilada burrito, which I've never had, so it's all on him!

From their perspective, they're getting fed an hour earlier, which isn't so bad.

I think they get nervous in the fall that they're not getting dinner at all.

It’s past ten, and it feels like eight.

Monday morning is going to be here before we know it.

Houston, I think we may have a problem.

Happy Sunday, all!

I, for one, am most delighted that today is Oscar day.

Facebook has been filled with "guessing" about all categories since the start of the year....yes, pre-Oscar nominations.  The first batch of predictions were about who would be nominated for what.  The guessers were all agog about "the pre-cursors" lists and how they predict Oscars.  Most especially, some proclaimed, the Golden Globes were a dead giveaway on who would win the Oscars.

Lately, several posters have been regaling us with their choices for the past fifty years...citing the Oscar winners versus their own more deserving choices.

Yesterday, a chap alerted all those with extensive Oscar knowledge and film experts that he would soon post HIS own comprehensive listing of all Oscar winners since 1950 citing those who deserved to win vs those he knows should have won.

I shouted "alert the media" to that.

I do understand the excitement that Oscars can be for folks.

I was once a major Oscar devotee.  And I can still enjoy an Oscar moment or two when something wonderful happens.  Last year's award to Brendan Fraser was one of those times.

But I have seen far too many Oscar shows in which deserving folks lost out to the popular, or "in", things that, retrospectively, turn out to have been dud choices given the competition of their respective years.

All that is subjective, of course.  My disappointment is someone else's joy.

Are you delighted because it's over after today?  Or really looking forward to it tonight?

So, enjoy your Sunday and perhaps we shall trade sarcastic remarks, insults or shared delights during tonight's Oscar party.

I never said, did I?

I will be most delighted when it is over.  Facebook-wise, it will be a major relief except that there is likely to be a lot of "I predicted this" and "How could they have chosen XXXX over my favorite?"

Happy Sunday everyone!  There's a new episode of the Broadway Radio Show up on the site for your listening pleasure.  Melissa Errico joins me to chat about her new album Sondheim in the City. It's a terrific exploration of living in New York through the works of Stephen Sondheim.  As always, Melissa is a fascinating guest...check it out!

Alexa tells me it’s 9:30 am and also that the time change happened at 2 am. But on the Alexa screen, it says 10:30 am. Oy.

Listening to Donald. I didn't know Melissa Errico writes occasionally for the New York Times. Her liner notes on this album are great.
