DR George thank you for reposting Jrand's photo so I can see it.

Now I want to know why it is in a kitchen, and is that an antena on top of the tv ;)

From DR Vixmom:

Why would you want to hook your stove up to Wi-Fi?

;D

My brother has that and it complicated his life when he had to change his clock.  I know someone else who loves having the WiFi connection.

My brother did not care about WiFi, it just came with his oven when he replaced his broken one.

I agree with you Vixmom but fear if we have to get a new oven we might not have a choice.

I truly enjoyed everyone's reminiscences of their exposures to music and record players yesterday.

As a toddler, I had a plastic record player that played 45s. The last time I played it, I was about 11 or 12.  I was going through the infantile recordings I had and fixated on "Teddy Bears Picnic".  I played it over and over for about an hour.  The day was hot.  We had no air conditioning.

I had, during the years of puberty, occasional "sick headaches".  That is what my mom called them, but they were a form of migraine.

That day, I developed one of those sick headaches and was bedridden by early evening and tended to throughout the night by my parents who would put a cold cloth on my brow, adjust the sweat-soaked sheets (or replace them), etc.

The worst thing about that particular headache was the ear worm that played over and over in my head;

f you go down to the woods today
You're sure of a big surprise
If you go down to the woods today
You better go in disguise
For every bear that ever there was
Will gather there for certain, because
Today is the day the teddy bears have their picnic

I was allowed to stay home the next day and rest  My headache and fever broke early in the morning and I was exhausted.

I had the strength, however, to take that damned 45 and smash it to pieces.

I especially like this part:

Star on the Rise is the brainchild of Phil Chan and Doug Fullington, but more than that, it is the result of close collaboration with music adapter and orchestrator Larry Moore and the whole of the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music Ballet Department.

Enough Tuesday redux!

I had a major memory jog reading all of yesterday's posts.

If anything interesting develops at (or as a result of) the pot luck, I shall elaborate later.

Have a great time at the pot luck!

Who will make me a coconut torte?

In lieu of coconut, would a sharp RE-tort do?

Pot luck is over.

Too much food.  Too many with cheese, including my two dishes.  But nobody complained, and we all ate a little of everything.

Good conversation at lunch.

Got home around 1:15 p.m., sat down in my chair, and I just woke up from a nap.    Ninety minutes worth, and I loved it.

The air was cool when I left the house at 11:40 a.m., but it warmed up considerably over the next hour.

It is 75 degrees right now.
