I suppose $800 million would solve a few problems.

BK, that Ormandy Messiah runs a brisk 106 minutes because it is not a complete recording. If I remember correctly, Bernstein also did an abridged recording of the work for Columbia. The Ormandy cuts 16 numbers, Nos. 10, 11, 18, 27-32, 34-39, and 41. I suspect some numbers like "Rejoice Greatly" were cut becaise Eileen Farrell's voice wasn't up to the coloratura demands.

I saw the City Opera production around 2001; it was quite wonderful.

I need to have another look at the Act One score of the ballet today. On Monday, we're back to orchestra rehearsals.

I'm very sleepy this morning, although I slept quite well. I wouldn't mind going back to bed for a couple of hours.

TOD

Oy.  No time for anything.

I do pass a Spinning Wheel restaurant on my way to this week's venue. Does that count?
