I suddenly recalled why April 26 is a question mark on my calendar.

I have received a summons from the County Clerk to serve as a Circuit Court Juror.  I have until the 26th to fill out their required paperwork.

One of the boxes on the form says that if I am over 65, I may be excused from serving.

Last I checked, I was 75.  That should do it, I think.

Of course, it could be interesting and could expand my view of the County and its citizens.  I need to know more about how long the service will be.

Have you ever served on jury duty in this county?

I recommend serving on a jury if one is able. Especially intelligent people like Ron to balance out the inevitable dimwits. I’ve served on trials twice and wow, you’ll never go broke underestimating how brainless a jury of your peers can be.

From DR John:

Quote
Turns out the main writer for the early seasons of All Creatures is the writer of the upcoming miniseries, A Gentleman in Moscow. I loved that novel.

I didn't realize it was the same writer.  I loved the novel even more on the second read.  I hope the miniseries does it justice and that the humor is not lost.

Yes EBAY used to be an AUCTION site.....although I like the Buy It Now option now and that's what I usually use.

EBAY is where I met former Dear Readers JMK and MBARNUM.

That is very interesting.

And JMK directed me to HHW back in 1994 or so....so I am celebrating my 30th year here at the most popular site on the internet.

Congratulations!

I just dropped Nathan off for his colonoscopy, so I'm on call for picking him up when he's done. It's only ten minutes away.

At least it is conveniently located.

They let you leave? They practically hogtie the drivers here, so scared they’ll not be there when they want to let the patients go .

 :o

What happened to simply calling the driver when it was time to be picked up!

Likewise here - for colonoscopies, the driver must remain on site.

I find that a bit annoying.

I used to check Goodwill’s auction page for record lots. It’s mostly total junk but one time there was a set of library recordings from NBC-TV, electronic music cues from the early ‘70s. A real treasure I thought I’d snag. Got into a bidding war and lost. Still regret that sometimes.

On today’s post #77, bk speaks of 7 hours of sleep. Maybe it’s a sign to forgive page 7.

Maybe it could morph into "I do not care for page six" - but that would sound like a slam on the New York Post.

"I do not care for page four" would be very easy in terms of meeting the goal.  You just set the goal low, and you'll never be disappointed.

You're lucky, ChasSmith.  The one time I had my colonoscopy, my friend Margo who drove me was told that she had to stay their until the procedure was over.  They didn't let her leave. :-\

They actually encourage it. I could wait there if I insisted on doing so, but they're just as happy to keep the place clear of people who don't need to be there. It's great being so early on the schedule, though. We were practically the only ones there at 7 a.m.

Who knew?

Last night Vixdad was watching a documentary about Rush Limbsugh’s trials for his malicious lies about Sandy Hook.

It just made me so angry.

He’s a monster and he’s still briadcasting and hasn’t paid out a cent.

I wish he could just be thrown into jail until he pays up, and be forbidden to ever speak publicly again

Did you mean Alex Jones?

Regardless, neither one of them are good people. >:(
