It was spectacular!

Glad you enjoyed it, Vixmom!

But my mother believes any printed material , not actively being read at the moment when her eye falls upon it , is rubbish, and must be immediately removed lest we be buried under a mountain of periodicals and die a horrible death like the Collyer brothers

My mom is kind of the same way. ::)

Egg rolls were good. Pork bao was mostly bao with about two tiny pieces of pork. Wouldn't order those again from this jernt.

My phone will only allow me to see the Notes for April 6

My computer brought me to the Notes for April 6, too.  So I clicked on "Column Archives" which brought up the column archives, so I selected today's "Minuet in Notes" at the top of that list.

Weird.  I always go to the home page and refresh, then it updates to the latest notes. :-\

Now I know the writing is on the wall, so I call back PayPal, stop the card and now I'm without that card, which I have many autopays on, for seven to ten days. Additionally, we have to dispute the 29.99 and I won't get THAT back for thirty days now. I then transferred the entire balance to my bank account so there's zero in the PayPal account, so there's no way for anyone to get anything out of there.

Yikes! :o Hopefully, it'll be resolved sooner than 30 days!

Tonight's concert with the English Concert conducted by Harry Bicket with countertenor Iestyn Davies was excellent. They played music by Handel, Vivaldi, and Corelli.

That's great, MichaelG.

I don't think of myself as a countertenor fan but I think that's because of some mediocre experiences the first few times I heard any. Singing standards have gotten a lot better and I always seem to enjoy them nowadays.

I've never seen a countertenor live, but I've seen some PBS operas and concerts that were quite good.

I've seen a tenor on a counter, but that's another story.

I probably went over 1000 calories due to the pork baos but I had to do it. Probably not by much. The burger was probably 600 calories. The burger place left a comment on my review saying they get their meat fresh daily but as a precaution threw out the rest from today. They apologized profusely.

Then there's P.D.Q. Bach's composing for a bargain countertenor. ;)

Loved that photo survey, DR ChasSmith. Count me among the others who have never seen or watched Grease in any form.

You might like the movie.

Kenickie got screwed out of song, though. ::)

This day cannot be over quick enough. Ordered a smash burger because it was 25% off. I've had one from this place before and it was good. Well, since it's today, this thing was absolutely vile and I probably shouldn't have eaten it. It didn't taste rancid, but something was really off and I'm kind of nauseous from it - hopefully, it won't turn into anything worse.

Oh, no! :o I hate it when that happens!

A friend posted this today:

I bless my anger. It tells me I am alive.
I bless my sadness. It reminds me that I am real.

I bless my confusion. Out of it comes clarity.
I bless my tears. They heal me.

Very nice, Singdaw.

Sounds like my mother. Her stuff was worth something. Ours was worthless. Out went my autographs from Ella Fitzgerald, Lillian Gish and more.

Oh, no!  That's a tragedy!
