So, I suspended (but did not cancel) my Amazon Prime membership last year (to save a little money, and I don't really use it that much) and I want to buy a couple of items.  I need a minimum of $35 in products to get free shipping BUT my two items only add up to $34.98, which means I still need two cents...that's right just $0.02...to get the free shipping! :o

They don't sell anything for just 2 cents. :P

Topic of the Day:  Beware! The Blob really scared me when I was a kid.  I remember my sister and I had some friends over to watch it (or maybe it was just a sleepover and it was on), and I was freaked out!  I ran into my bedroom and I don't think I came back out until the morning.

I drugged myself into a stupor last night, and I slept rather well. When the alarm rang at 6:00, I turned it off, snuggled with Thatch and Annabelle, and got up 45 minutes later.

I've been watching Jeremy Brett's Sherlock Holmes on Amazon Prime. Last night was the worst, The Last Vampyre, a tale verging somewhere between the ridiculous and Hammer Films. The opening was straight out of the opening for the wonderful, oerverse Vampire Circus, and then went downhill rather quickly. It did feature actors I love, like Elizabeth Spriggs, who was wasted in asmall role.

I have a good friend now living in Germany; a cellist, he was lured away to England by countertenor James Bowman, who for years was England's foremost countertenor, after Alfred Deller, with a voice I can only describe as questionable. I've always preferred PDQ Bach's bargain countertenors.

I've managed to procrastinate another laundry day, so I will work on the Charleston.

In the mornings I sometimes think of Peter O’Toole in THE LION IN WINTER, breaking the layer of ice in the wash basin to splash cold water on his face, growling “It’s going to be a beast of a day!”

DR John G., I read that as I think I was in too much manure yesterday.

But I think that would be more BK’s feeling.

TOD: I was quite disturbed by the ABC-TV showing of the feature film “The Legend of Hell House.” My siblings used a blanket to block me from seeing the scary reveal in the last 10 minutes, which somehow made it even scarier.
