Gasoline:  $2.79 per gallon.  Whew!

That's the one thing I'm scared of when I head back home this weekend.  I haven't had to fill up a tank of gas in seven weeks.  And in that seven weeks, gas prices have jumped about 50 cents. So...

OH!!  Page 10!!!

In honor of my Patti LuPone sighting earlier today, how about a nice Tap Break - like the one in the revival of Anything Goes.

By my calculations the equivalent price of gas here in OZ (includes quite a lot of tax) is about $7 USA a gallon.  And yes it hurts.

It's almost time for bed...but I need to wind down a bit from watching BB6, which -- even though I knew about everything I saw -- got me all riled up actually seeing the moronic cretins exude the worst sportsmanship traits I've ever seen on TV.

Janelle is lucky, and smart, and has won some major prizes on the show.

And the MCs (moronic cretins) hate her because of it and resent her and keep declaring that if only she weren't there then THEY would get the loot.

I was yelling at my TV set the entire hour...and laughing like a loon.

An hour before BB6, I was prepping a late supper.  I put a 2-lb. pork loin roast in my upright rotisserie and let it cook for an hour.  I then made a plate of "Potatoes Anna" to accompany the pork.

Quelle feast!

I have been fighting my sinus sensitivities all evening.

My left nostril remains clogged while my right nostril is breathing free and easy.

I hate these "sensitivities."

Homemade chocolate cake with a few scoops of Healthy Choice ice cream!

I got a Criterion DVD in the mail today:  Renoir's "The River", which I very much want to watch very soon.

Another recent acquisition tickles my fancy -- I got the 45 rpm "Captain From Castile" in a minty cover...quite a nice addition to a small, but well-preserved collection of 45 rpm soundtracks.

My holy grail is the "Madame Bovary" 45 rpm record -- but I have never seen one offered anywhere.  Just saw a picture of one in a collector's guide.

Gasoline:  $2.79 per gallon.  Whew!

Regular gas here in Oakland is about $2.99.9,  Premium is $3.49. and Extra is $3.29.9.   At least, those were the prices at the Shell Station I pass on my way to work.

Gas prices are routinely higher in the Bay Area than anywhere else in California.

I hate the price of gas.  I seem to be ok with it as long as regular doesn't hit $3

We are routinely reminded that elsewhere in the world, gas prices are significantly higher and that we are going to see ours go up accordingly.

In Europe, gas is heavily taxed, and those taxes maintain a superb transportation infrastructure.  Here, they maintain lifestyles of the rich and overindulged capitalists.  Our infrastructure, like our educational system, is rotting.

I'd guess our price per gallon is only fractionally taxed (less than 10%, I'd guess).  Our trouble is corporate greed.  So...I'm guessing that when we get up to $5 or $6 a gallon, the government (local/state or federal) will increase the taxes accordingly and we'll then pay $7 to $8 a gallon.

It's currently F75 degrees outside.  Whew!  The high today was F 80 and two hours after sunset, the temp has dropped only 5 degrees.

The "expected" low tonight is F 55.  That means something mysterious may happen in the wee hours...something that will creep in upon us on cat feet.

I hate my month "electricity" bill of $90...no frills.  No AC running.  Only a window fan.

But that's the price we have to pay here in the state that doesn't produce its own power and has to purchase it from out of state.

Actually, Ron, I was enjoying each and every one of them!

Flattery will get you everywhere, Tom.

Here I am...back again...and full of typing fury as I've still not come down off my BB6 high.

Either that or I've got a chocolate cake buzz...which I truly suspect is the real cause.

I've gone through my e-mail...both my home e-mail and my work e-mail, which I can access from home.

Oddly, even though I'd cleaned out my home e-mail around 5:30 p.m., there were 30 messages.  THIRTY!  I normally have 10-15.

What has happened?  I pondered.

What on earth? I exclaimed.

What the hell?  I fumed.

Then it hit me square in the face.

My mother, having returned from her trip Sunday night, was just catching up on her e-mails (and she gets hundreds of cutesy e-mails from a variety of people).  She weeds through them, but I get what's left...and I had a weeks' worth in my inbox...or, at least, about 14.

Sigh.

My work e-mail, which unfortunately yields a bit of spam on a daily basis, had three messages, all of which were legit and harmless.

I detest cutesy e-mails from strangers.

And I'm not fond of it from friends and family.

But...whatcha gonna do!

Oh!  DR Jose!  When you read this tomorrow, and I'm only assuming you'll catch up with whether anyone has been talking to you while you're sleeping, our local Friday farmer's market normally has a vendor who sells...are you ready???????

Baluts.

Yep!

Ack!

Are there any Kathy Griffin fans out there?

Anyone?

No?

Oh, well.  She's ranting in the background while I type.  She gets bleeped so much, I have to wonder why Bravo bothers airing her show.

I mean, is she really saying anything worse than you can hear on South Park, which never gets bleeped on The Comedy Channel?
