DRs DER BRUCER and TPunk - There are many variations on Chicken with 40 Cloves, but it's basically a roast chicken roasted with 40 - or more(!) - cloves of garlic.  Some recipes call for peeling all the garlic cloves, others say to leave them unpeeled, while others suggest half and half.  It all depends how garlicky you want your final product.  And IIRC, the "tinkering" that Cook's Illustrated did a couple of months ago, also called for some finely minced garlic added to the final sauce to add a fresh note at the end.

*If you happen to have a clay pot cooker/roaster, Chicken with 40 Cloves is ideal for it.  The moist heat insures that the garlic cooks down to a nice mush.

I had been getting cut by the owner of the salon.

A line from Sweeney Todd?

PS - Dear Stuart - the 70's are over, scissors are out, clippers are in (but isn't nice to still have need for a haircut :))

I'm sure Alton Brown would use a terra-cotta flower-pot from Home Depot!

Thanks, DR Jose, for reminding me of THE SMOTHERS BROTHERS COMEDY HOUR. It ran for 2 1/2 seasons and was canceled while still popular, but CBS was tired of dealing with the liberal-minded brothers. I loved the show.

Heck, I loved their lame situation comedy show, too which preceded the variety show by a couple of years.

And didn't the Smothers Brothers have a show for a while?  I seem to remember snippets of those too.

Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour 1967-1970.

Don't you remember Pat Paulsen running for President.

Loved him. Loved his crew of characters. Always found "The Silent Spot" at the end of the very amusing and occasionally touched with pathos. And David Rose made that orchestra sound like a 70 piece orchestra.

DR Stuart - I had the same "problem" with the lady who used to cut my hair in Richmond.  Jane was/is a lovely lady, and she runs a very nice salon.  She would always give me a very nice hair cut.  Well, she was out for a few days, and she went ahead and passed me on as it were to one of the others stylists in the shop.  Well, Chris really a did a wonderful job.  Thankfully, by the time I had "discovered" Chris, I started getting more work on the road and up in DC...  So that was my excuse whenever I ran into Jane and she would ask where had I been.  ;)

I'm up, I'm up.

And feeling JOCULAR myself.

The Ed Sullivan Show, The Perry Como Show, The Danny Kaye Show, The Red Skelton Show, Laugh-In, The Garry Moore Show, Smothers Brothers, and, many others, including my all-time favorite - The Jack Benny Show.

Yes, To Kill a Mockingbird also has DTS, 5.1, and mono.

Last night I dreamed I was at Manderley.  I don't remember anything of the dream except that I was posting to this here site that it was hazy.  Well, guess what?  It's hazy.
