I just come here for the novelty coffee mugs and their trenchant commentary on the little ironies of everyday life.

DR singdaw, Juneteenth is not, yet, a federal holiday.

Yet mail was not delivered today.

DR JANE soon after the discovery of the wreck of the Titanic, there was a full page ad in the Indy paper that you could buy a piece of coal from the debris field.

No other items were being brought up at that time - I think there was a dispute over who owned the stuff.

The piece of coal was $39.95 and was mounted on that little base with a gold plated plaque that has our name on it....and a certificate of authenticity.  I bought the clear plastic cover to put over it.

Now and then some show up on EBAY.

I look at it now and then and think about that night.

Keith saw it on eBay for $180 when he was looking for more info on it.  You got it at a good price.

The director asked me to run the sound cues on a CD player last night....and I was also reading Fassbender who is in Puerto Rico for the week.....so it was rather hectic.

Our female lead - who is also the director's daughter - has decided that her ad libs and business are hilarious and continues to be a lowlight of the evening....

I suppose the director agrees that she is hilarious  ::)

She is also giving invaluable advice to the stage managers, the costumer, and line readings to the other actors.

The last time she appeared onstage was as one of the orphans in OLIVER! a few decades ago.

The director is not doing her any favors by letting her get away with this behavior.

Is she financing the production, by any chance?

Good question.

I've decided to jump into the sourdough craze several years after it started. I'm on day three of my starter. It has bubbled and foamed and shot up in the glass and is doing everything it's supposed to.

Years and years ago I made a sour dough starter and couldn't stand the smell.  Since we lived in California getting good sour dough bread wasn't a problem.

When we lived in Michigan Bryan wanted me to make sour dough bread so I made another starter, and the bread a few times.  Again the smell really bothered me so I stopped.

Bryan now has his own sour dough starter and there is always bread sitting on a cutting board.

For us, we discovered that Fred Meyer near us sells the excellent sour dough bread from the Portland bakery I love.

More coffee!!

I just realized why I'm moving slowly today. I took a Benadryl late last night to dry me up, and it's a good sleep agent as well, but it can sometimes leave me feeling kind of groggy, too.

That was rather late to take a Benadryl unless you could sleep in.  I hope you feel better.

Has anyone read The Thirteenth Tale?

Yes.  Even though I don't remember much about it, I do recall liking it very much.

An annoying one is when Spellcheck (or Autocorrect or whichever it is) wants to make extra sure I didn't mean Barbara when I typed Barbra!
