Congrats on millstones and whatever else has been going on.I am delinquent because I woke up yesterday with what has proved to be the worst case of diverticulitis I've had. I'm used to getting a little flare-up once a year or so, but yesterday's was more intense. I had a couple of degrees of fever so I called my "primary" who advised me to go to an urgent-care center (since they had not one minute in which to see me yesterday), and if I couldn't get in, just go to an ER. Fortunately the urgent care could see me, and they explained that the reason the doc would have wanted me to be seen today is the fever. But if you keep having the pains or the fever, you do have to go to the ER and get an abdominal cat-scan and bloodwork which will tell us for sure what the problem is. By then I was feeling much better and she said okay, you get option 1, which is an antibiotic, and see if that starts to improve things. I got Cipro for my first time, and boy is it strong but I don't care. I'm on it for seven days.
.
George, thanks so much for your lovely comment last night!

Last night I read in Caleb Carr's My Beloved Monster the chapter on the cats he had as a boy. By the time I finished reading the tragedy of beautiful black cat Ching-ling, her third batch of kittens, and her horrible death in a botched surgery at four years of age, I was blubbering like a baby and wailing like a wild thing.
The book is beautifully written, very interesting, both as biographies of Carr and Masha as well as a treatise on cats.
After my usual housekeeping chores, I have no plans. Please keep the work vibes coming. I cannot survive on my Social Security and pension. Last year. I had the ballet aentary income. This year, there's been very little work. I have to get Stella to the vet.

It’s ready from the library. I need to finish up a few books first, including Bury Your Gays, a mystery about a gay TV writer who has been ordered to kill off gay characters in his TV show.
Tonight is a performance of Bach's St. John Passion.

From Grazie:Not only does the Ice Cream Diet exist, but it also works. This dietary regimen, acclaimed as the best summer weight-loss diet, was devised by Pietro Migliaccio, a nutritionist and President of the Italian Society of Nutrition.Obviously, despite its name, it doesn’t promise weight loss in exchange for binges of ice cream in front of the TV. However, it does allow for consuming one or two ice creams a day and still losing weight. Which isn’t bad at all.
Well, this is something that Jane might be interested to learn about (I know my sister and niece will be):Beyond Meat's newest sausages aren't pretending to be meat anymoreBeyond Sun Sausage isn't meant to mimic meat. Instead, it features whole vegetables and legumes
Tonight I must finish packing as we head out on part one of our journey after work tomorrow

I hope your case is much less severe.

It will be wonderful to see the kids again
