Had a good call from David Wechter. Any forward momentum is fine by me!

I never even heard of A Walk with Love and Death. I see the screenplay is by Dale Wasserman, who wrote the script for Man of La Mancha.

Back to Pete:  He was a native New Yorker who retired from the DODs school system in 1988.  He went back to New York in June, was diagnosed with cancer and died within a month of the diagnosis.  Not the same "Pietro" Migliaccio, obviously, but it was a common name for Italian-Americans and Italians alike.

Up until Pete retired the story was nice.  I've seen stories like this that are very sad.

It almost killed Angelica Huston's acting career before it began.

And Wasserman's script is not the movie's strong suit.

Had CPK lunch special for food. Teeny-tiny seven-inch sausage and pepperoni and mushroom pizza (four one-bite slices) and a teeny-tiny side Caesar salad for a very reasonable price. The pizza was good except they put some bushes in it - maybe basil - that I had to remove but that affected the taste. Salad was fine, and all under 1000 calories.

In addition to forward momentum, a modern major miracle happened, too, and that's a good thing.

San Antonio Opera is staging a mariachi opera this fall called Cruzar la Cara de la Luna. I know nothing about it, but I am looking forward to it.

Having recently completed all six seasons of "Lost", I decided to revisit "Heroes" on Peacock.

The first two episodes were fun, and commercials were sparse.

Today, I played season three and there was at least 10 one-minute commercials.  In fact, every time a station break fade-out happened, there was another commercial.

So...that's finished.  I don't appreciate commercials on services I pay to get.

The Georges Delerue score is really good.

I have my pre-op appointment in the morning for my upcoming cataract surgery.  We will be discussing what, if any options I have to correct my vision and then I will need to make a decision.

I'm very nervous about this appointment, not about the upcoming cataract removal, that I will end up with more eye issues as a result than I already have, and that I will still have crappy vision.

Sigh.
