I slept the sleep of the dead...either the nearly dead or mostly dead variety..,last night/this morning.  There was one hour of not-so-dead, though. I awakened at 2:45 a.m. for a bathroom pit stop, and it was about an hour before I fell back to sleep.  But, oh!  What a sleep it became.

And so, I was out of bed at 10:24 a.m.

I do not know the reason.  I cannot explain why!

Don't ask.

In an interesting coincidence, PIT STOP was one of the puzzles on the Wheel of Fortune that aired last night.

I do know that it rained mostly throughout the night.  It was raining when I got up at 2:45 a.m.  It is very overcast this morning and showers are expected this afternoon, but I am hoping that the weekend will be brighter.  That's the forecast, at any rate.

From a book column:

A copy of “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” by J.K. Rowling, sold at auction last night in Dallas for $37,500. Of course, there’s a touch of magic around this particular book: It’s an original proof copy that misspells the author’s name as “J. A Rowling.” Only 200 were ever printed. According to Heritage Auctions, in 1997 a primary school in the little village of Minster Lovell, Oxfordshire, bought this proof copy at a publisher’s sale for one pound. Years later, local business owner Dale Henry acquired the book and decided to auction it off to raise money for the village.

The lawn in mo-wed.

The crab apple tree in the side yard (with branches hanging over the fence into the backyard) has a LOT of little apples on it....so the branches were hanging low and I had to duck a lot....

And there were a lot of little ones on the ground so now there is an abundance of crab applesauce in the yard.

DR Jrand - I think the bully on your Board should be solely responsible for the marketing and advertising for your June show.

There is a glitch that is not allowing me to post the graphic for today's noted celebrations.

I just tried to post another picture and got the same error message. I know the files are small enough. This might be something BK has to report to the hosting service.

Interesting oppose or support responses between the top two democrats running for governor.

Lest we forget a big movie is opening today.

This is my favorite line from the Indiewire review:

By that measure, Shawn Levy’s “Deadpool & Wolverine” is triumphantly half-successful — which makes it more successful by half than anything else Shawn Levy has ever directed.
