The Hitchhiker is a minor classic.

I loved every minute. Not a wasted moment.

I've started a coffee table book called The Tonys. It's short statements from winners and plenty of interesting photos. It's not very deep. There are no statements about Two Gents winning over Follies or either Guspy or Chicago going empty handed on their original productions. But it is fun.

TOD:  The ones that keep getting me watching on YouTube these days are Jessica Kirson and John Mulaney.

Favorites of previous eras have included Rita Rudner and Shecky Greene.

John Mulaney's really good, too.

Remember how you were supposed to cut away the tin top covering "the dessert"? So that it heated extra well?

But somehow the dessert frequently got overcooked!

It still tasted good,  though.

The show actually went well last night.....and our production photographer got teary eyed at the end.....so that's a good sign.

Between 5 - 7 p.m., I sold 25 tickets, reserved another 9, and exchanged 6....so we did okay.

That's great, Jrand!

Once the novelty of tv dinners wore off we rarely had them.  The only ones I can remember liking were the fried chicken.

The story with some photos is up at

www.putnamcountyplayhouse.com

I'll add a few of the official photos after I get them tonight so that all of the cast members will have their photos on the website.

Very nice pictures, Jrand!

Last night's Superstar auditions were more productive than Sundays, but there'll be another round later because they still need

(wait for it)

men.
Our own auditions for Snoopy are this coming weekend. Pray for that baby.

I am so angry: I finished the two loads of laundry in the washers and went to the dryers. One is out and whoever used it last did not bother to report it to the service company. So, I will be stuck another e45 goddamned minutes at least in the basement waiting for my laundry to dry.

And I have more to report when I finish.

How rude! >:(

Thanks DR FREDDIE......another dress rehearsal tonight....and we will block the bows.

Rehearsal tomorrow night - not a dress rehearsal.  And then we open in Venice.....I mean we open on Thursday.

I am sad I will miss the debate tonight - but I am sure there will be lots of clips to see.

I'm going to miss it, also.  Tonight is the first rehearsal/read-through for An Inspecter Calls. :)

The bed is made, and I did not need to ask Jen for assistance.

While I was sitting in the laundry room, waiting for the washers to finish , a woman I did not recognize came in with a big shopping bag. She walked past me without saying anything, opened a dryer and started putting clothes into it. I told her I was doing laundry and she should get the hell out. She left with her shopping bag of clothes.

Good for you! ;D

Tell them to do a gender swap version

There were two different local productions in the 1990s that had a female Judas.  Those women could sing!

On my way in a bit....and my wish is that I return as full of hope for the show that I was last night.

Two of the young girls came to be last night and finally said....that the dresses that they were given to wear to the "teen" party really didn't fit....and could they look for others in the costume dept.

I said sure.....and they later came down with two very cute and flattering dresses that were much better choices....I was glad to give them permission to switch them out.

I think they felt I would listen to them because last night I brought them both a few pieces of fancy costume jewelry to wear to the "cocktail" party they are a part of.....

Fun young actresses who are both really doing a nice job and take direction very well.

That's so sweet, Jrand.

I finally finished Lempicka all the way through. At the end of a song about us not knowing when our time will come. And yrs, they song "our time." It felt like they were commenting on Merrily We Roll Along.
