Had my Caesar and added some tiny bay shrimp and I have to say it was really good.

I have been busy tossing, packing, and the usual laundry and such. Brian came over on Saturday and did a lot of cleaning and packing. There’s a building inspection here on Thursday and I needed to get the place more presentable. It looks a lot better. I don’t want him to trip over my many boxes.

Chowder is a great Carol Channing word. Try it.

I think I'll go directly to Jeanne's after the eye doctor - I'll accuse the building inspectors of being fake and that I'M the real building inspector. A THRILLER!

Speaking of thrillers, I watched another one tonight - from 2022. It had a couple of interesting moments and it's certainly well directed and has a good leading performance by an actor I really don't care for - but the screenwriters aren't so hot, especially when adapting a Patricia Highsmith novel that didn't need their help. They change way too many things. Of course, one of the writers is Sam Levinson, that disgusting writer who created one of the worst TV shows EVER - The Idol, starring Johnny Depp's daughter.

I was thinking of getting a ride to and from the eye place, but the insurance doesn't cover Uber and Lyft, only RideShare and they cannot guarantee you'll get there on time. So, I'll just drive over there, and if I'm not comfortable driving home if the dilating of the eyeballs lingers, I'll just walk somewhere and get a bite to eat, THEN drive home. There should be some jernt not too far from there or I can Uber somewhere close.

You might remember my mentioning a friend named Rebecca from time to time.  She and I were young Miami University librarians in the 1970s and became good friends.  She was devastated when her husband died in 2020 and eventually stopped even responding to my texts almost 3 years ago.

I learned quite by accident last Friday that she’d had a stroke in April, shuttled from facility to facility for 6 months, and died on October 8.  While I’m not sure she’d appreciate the exposure, I was grateful to find that her church had live-streamed her Oct. 16 funeral and I could watch the replay.

This one’s tough…

Ginny, I am very sorry about the. Loss of your friend.  Sending hugs and condolences,

I do remember you talking about Rebecca.

Ginny what devastating news about your friend, Rebecca, sending you hugs and vibes and prayers of comfort

Thank you, DR Vixmom.  One of the most bizarre things I learned is that the facility where she spent her last days in hospice care was on our route to my radiation treatments.  We drove past there every day.

There is precious little for me to write about since my last post several days back.

i am even more disappointed in some relatives than I previously was thanks to their unremitting obsession with Donald J. Stump and how absolutely right he is for "their" interests.

I got a scathing retort from one in-law saying he was very disappointed that I would berate the old bastard for being like Hitler and being a fascist.  Didn't I realize the man has a Jewish daughter and grandchildren?  How would I like it if someone said something ugly about me in that fashion.

I pointed out that I was not quoting me, but the Donald himself, that I was listening to the Donald and why wasn't HE listening?  He then told me he did listen, but that the Donald had been good for his business and that it hasn't been the same since Biden took over.  I reminded him that when Biden took office, we were coming out a pandemic that had crippled many businesses, primarily because of the Donald's inept mismanagement of it.   Biden wasn't going to wave a wand and make things perfect again but that the economy has vastly improved.

Nope, he wasn't having any of it.  At that point, I scratched him off my "give-a-shit-about" list permanently.

It is very sad to listen to these crazy people,  especially when you have a relationship with them.

DR Ron, I told my DH we should have taken our little camping trailer out into the woods for this week -- someplace without internet. We just couldn't fit it in the schedule.

Sounds like a great idea.  This trip is keeping me very busy and somewhat distracted.

I know many people that have lost relatives to The Cult. I am much less close to my sister after she started getting influenced by her husband. I'm sad about it, but for myself, I place a higher priority on my own mental health and not expending my energy on those negative vibes.
