One nice thing is that I've been given tonight off from rehearsal. They don't need music tonight.

And that's kind of a godsend.

I watched "Foul Play" last night.

It's very entertaining, has good music, Barry Manilow singing a coupe of songs, a bit of The Mikado is in the mix and there is Goldie Hawn and Chevy (he looks like Bruce Kimmel) Chase.

Goldie is SO YOUNG in this film.  I remember seeing it when it was released in 1978.  When I look in a mirror, I still see myself as I was then although photographs inform me those days are LONG GONE.

While the movie is fun, it's also a bit convoluted, plot- and character-wise.  And let me not leave out Dudley Moore in a wonderfully comic performance, nor omit Billy Barty as the dwarf Bible salesman who had one of the worst "accidents" on screen I have ever witnessed.   And then there is Cooper Huckabee, rube from the sticks in the city (San Francisco) who gets treated to a "joy ride" that is a lot of fun.

Today being a national holiday, the post office is closed.

I have to start looking to see if local eateries are closed.  I have food in the freezer, but will need to have some thaw time.

Haven't yet had coffee or a bagel.  And I need to read up on my upcoming cataract procedure (i.e, when to start drops, what meds to stop takng, that kind of thing).

Glad you liked it. I just wanted more.

I understand that, but I sure loved what I got. I may watch it again this week, but I also want to see the Ian McKellan version now. It's on YouTube.

Sundae on a Monday?

This  year, yes.  Not last year or next, though.

I finished the pasta sauce. It's in containers in the fridge and freezer, and the kitchen is cleaned up. I'm exchausted.

We are waiting for the plumber to arrive and install a new garbage disposal.  The current one is why we had a leak under our sink.

Fortunately I discovered the leak the day before we left on our trip instead of before our morning flight.

I like that Canadian Remembrance Day is on the same day as our Veterans Day.

Started watching the Ennio Morricone documentary. Highly recommended. I took a break at about 1:40. Another hour to go. He is there. Most of the talking heads — from Bertolucci to John Williams — are articulate. The archival footage is pertinent.

I want to track down several films, including one by Verneuil, the director BK mentioned in his notes today.

Actually, I deliberately (but not easily) saved half of it for later.

Good for you.  Be sure to take your time and heat it in the oven so it still tastes delicious :)
