My third and fourth guesses were just to make guesses for other letters, even though I knew that they wouldn't be the real word for today. ::)

Keith also does that though I think he fills in the blanks with an x.

Sorry; not really sure. But come, it will. They know where you live.

It seems to me that it began a year in advance of turning 65.

I'm told (by a high school friend who turned 65 this past August) the approach, on top of the automatic plans A and B, is to pay for a prescription plan, and if there's an affordable plan G, to get that.  (This is all word salad, or some kind of salad, right now.)

I agree that you need a prescription plan even if you don't currently need prescriptions.

DR Fred,

When we first went on Medicare, with secondary insurance, it wasn't an issue with our doctors.  Moving here, it took us a long time to find a doctor that took it. That lasted about a year when we were warned that we needed to switch to Medicare Advantage through Medicare or privately.  We switched to Regence Advantage which includes perscriptions and dental.  An all in one package is nice.

My advise, make sure you get insurance that doctors in your area actually take.

A friend has loaned me his 5-disc The Sound of Music restored soundtrack blah blah blah CD package released last year, so that's what I've been listening to today. Every note in the film, incredible detail in the documentation, and of course super glorious sound.

He doesn't have a Blu-ray player or drive, but I can play the fifth disc which is Blu-ray Audio, and I believe that's the first one of those I've tried. Absolutely glorious. That disc also has a Dolby Atmos (which I don't have) mix of the original album tracks, so even I am not hearing all that's available.

OMG DR ELMORE.

Thank you so much.

That was wonderful.  It rivals Hang On The Bell, Nellie as my favorite.

While Mrs R’s away (and sometimes when she’s here) my kids sleep in our bed. They sound like your cats. They take up all the space. My daughter isn’t able to sleep unless she’s paralyzing my arm. Etc. But it’s cozy.

Sweet.

I had to sign up for Medicare a couple of years ago but since Vixdad and I are still working and we're covered under his insurance I  haven't had to use it. But I guess I had better start researching since he's talking about retiring .

Only he is talking about retiring?  I thought you might do it together and move to Florida.

When we lived in Michigan it was a rare treat for me to visit the John King bookstore.  When I first went to Powell's in Portland I was a bit disappointed as it, for me, didn't equal King's.

I saw something about Kings on FB which is why I am mentioning it.  Over time I forgot the name and was very excited to see it.

 Thanks for that info, Jane.

Right now, still at 64, I use a Fidelis Care plan which my primary care doctor and his associates takes, and it includes my prescriptions, subject to a small deductible, usually $10 - and approval of the prescription by Fidelis, of course.   I'll make sure to check what's included when it's time for Medicare in six months.

On a prescription where they can give me 3 months at a time, the deductible was $30.
