Oh, my goodness!  I can't believe that I forgot to mention this!  When I worked concessions on Sunday for Olympia Symphony Orchestra's Orchestra Games, I worked with a new concessionaire named Merrily.  We got to chatting and I talked about the play I just SMed, and she mentioned that her cousin Tom Birkeland used to do plays before he died!  I said that I'd known Tom for many years and then we chatted about him for a little while! :D

Wowza! That’s cool.

Six months ago my niece Lauren sent me the “Wicked” trailer and said, “Promise you’ll be sitting next to me!”  She and I both have had enough health issues since then to make me skeptical that would ever happen.  But, later this afternoon I’m picking up her son after school and Lauren’s coming from work to meet up for dinner and a 6:30 screening!

Enjoy, DR Ginny!  I'm looking forward to seeing it in the next couple of days.

Very windy last night. Me and just the kids huddled up. Mrs R is down in Austin for work. Had candles and flashlights at the ready but we didn’t lose power, thank jeebus.

Still windy though. Very happy to not have trees too near us.

Had a weird dream that I had been asked to conduct the first rehearsal of a Brahms symphony. It was to be broadcast. Someone stole my copy of the score, and I was under prepared. It was a disaster. Only the oboes sounded good. The regular conductor quit. I finally got the score and went to work, section by section. Then the oboes started to get mad. Somehow, while it was coming together, it was discovered that the oboes players, who apparently lived together on a farm, had started growing porcini mushrooms and were now able to finance the orchestra.

I want this to be a movie

Ha! A nightmare.

BTw, I agree with BK that Luca G. ain’t so visionary as he thinks. Except for Call Me By Your Name, I haven’t liked his other movies. And I think Name worked because of James Ivory’s script and the performances.

I saw on the news there is a huge storm hitting the northwest. Has anyone heard from Jane and George?

I somehow missed your post this morning.

A friend texted today to check on us and said the news seemed as if we had been blown or flooded away.  It wasn't bad here at all ;D

I'm glad my conference in Sacramento was not this week.

Absolutely, especially since you drove.

Well, folks, I'm about to be visited upon by the sheetrockers who are fixing the ceiling and walls in two rooms.

I will likely be scarce today, starting very soon.

I hope you are pleased with the results.

I could also go for some peanut butter fudge if it's made the way I like it.

My mother made the best I've ever had.

She followed the fudge recipe on the Nestle's Cocoa Powder can but added a tablespoon or so of peanut butter at the end.  It helped set the fudge more quickly and the taste was just out of this world.

I've seen peanut butter fudge that has no chocolate in it, and I have to say, "What is up with THAT"?

Did any of you know that "white chocolate' has no chocolate in it?  White chocolate is a by-product of cacao beans, using whatever oils are removed during the processing of cacao to create the so-called "white" chocolate.

I knew that white chocolate did not have any chocolate in it.  I wasn't aware of how it is made.  Thanks for that interesting fact.

I miss Tom so much

I was just talking to a friend and her son has moved to Tacoma.  I almost said I have a friend who lives there.

A frustrating day from hell.

It began around 9:00 when I decided to contact AppleCare to see if we could get my email; server back.

The young manmm I spoke to decided that we could delete Sequoia and return to Sonoma, where SeaMonkey was compatable with Apple by rebuiding it from my Time Machine. Sounds good. Right?

Wow, no trees near you.  Maybe they all blew down in previous storms ;)
