BK, I was thinking yesterday was your eye procedure! I'm happy your physical went well, and I'm even happier that your drive home was not disastrous for you or anyone else on the road.

Ditto and Ditto!

I need work.  Seriously, I need a job.

I am very grateful for the Gypsy work, although the comments on the Musical Theatre Orchestration vanity page is already in an uproar. I'm grateful to BK for at least offering some sense.

Still, I need a job. I cannot wait around for Moonshine & Mistletoe, the balle, or the book to start generating income, if any, and no matter how much I plead, Annabelle, Thatch, and Stella refuse to get jobs.

One thing that always used to annoy me at certain department stores is that merchandise could only be rung up in its own department.

You couldn't walk around the store and find things and then pay for everything all at once at one register.

ANNOYING.

I've never been to a store that worked like that. :o

I don't think that's a thing anymore, although it might be.

Hopefully, not!

Here was the quote: “We are living in a skeptical and a thought-tormented age,” Gabriel (or is it James Joyce?) tells us. “One by one we are all becoming shades. Better pass boldly into that other world, in the full glory of some passion, than fade and wither dismally with age.”

I'm still unsure I'd buy it as a ghost story. I did forget Follies in my list of plays. Did I forget Blithe Spirit?

Follies and Blithe belong there. Canterville Ghost. Ghost and Mrs. Muir.

Here's the latest update on Peaniut the squirrel and Fred the raccoon. I'm in mourning.

Very interesting.  Hopefully, something good can come from all of this. :-\

I can't believe I left James Joyce's The Dead, story and movie, off my ghost story list.

I really enjoyed the Broadway show.

I'll keep the PSS-280 for myself.

When I opened up the box, I found the receipt from Service Merchandise dated 9/22/1989 for a cost of $108.88.

"Your name will be called at our Merchandise Pick Up Counter before 07:18 p.m."

Service Merchandise, now there’s a name from olden times.

I remember in the waning days of Sears, you couldn’t find anyone anywhere to pay … for anything!

I have surprisingly fond memories of Service Merchandise in the mid-late 1980s.

I don't think I ever bought a lot there, but definitely a few things, and there was just something enjoyable about the process and the stores themselves. I guess the merchandise was appealingly displayed.

It was part of that world we used to know. Ya know?

While I was out running errands this afternoon, I had plans to pick up something entirely different to eat, which never worked out, so I had something I haven't had in a while.

At McDonald's:

The double (yes, double) quarter pounder with cheese, with extra onions on the burger, large fries, and large Coke. (I always ask for extra onions because, for one thing, it's just better with them, and the burger comes out fresher when they have to do something special with it.) I went through the drive-thru, parked, and ate it all hot and fresh in the car. A welcome respite. And a shameful indulgence. And thoroughly delicious.

I had the fun job today of carrying the butterflies to the butterfly tent and letting them go after the scientists tagged them.

I don't think there will be a ban.  What could possibly happen is a reduction in what the government will cover.

Bruce, Keith can relate and really feels for you needing an MRI of your head.  He also doesn't think there is much benefit to an open MRI when your face will need to go in to the machine.  You lose clarity with an open MRI and this is your eye.  You need the best image possible.

If it were him, he would take drugs (lorazepam) to get through a closed MRI.

Bruce do you know if the MRI needed requires a contrast dye?  You want to know this before you have the MRI.
