I can't believe I left James Joyce's The Dead, story and movie, off my ghost story list.

I would never consider it a ghost story, and I love it and the film version.

But they are already ghosts in the narrator’s eye and soon to be ghosts in the present. I was reminded of that in reading s wonder review of Irish Rep’s immersive The Dead, 1904.

There was a story in Indy yesterday that said a school secretary had been fired and that the principal was under fire for being a bully.

One senior at the high school was talking about the popular secretary and was quoted as saying:  "Her and her husband are great....."

And all I could think of is:  "Her is?"

Cringe.

I'm still unsure I'd buy it as a ghost story. I did forget Follies in my list of plays. Did I forget Blithe Spirit?
