Topic of the Day:  I don't remember what my first (or even earliest) ice cream bar actually was, but I do remember really liking ice cream sandwiches...and I still do!  I would take two, then eat one cookie part of each, and put them together to make my own double-stuffed ice cream sandwich!  Yummy!

That sounds almost hedonistic, George!

The Chipwich ice cream sandwich was similar, I think.  It had two very important food groups, chocolate chip cookies and ice cream.

That sounds good too, but when I have a hankerin' for an ice cream sandwich, I just want the plain vanilla ice cream and chocolate cookie.  Simple yet elegant.

For elegance in ice cream, I also liked Frusen Glädjé  - which seems to be gone now.

I remember reading that the name was completely made up.  The company just wanted a foreign sounding name (to compete with Häagen-Dazs, I think) and that's what they came up with!

The Andre Previn songs in this movie are terrible, but they seem more tailored for Clint Eastwood's thin voice than the Loewe songs.

I have always been a sucker for an ice cream sandwich. In addition to the traditional rectangular chocolate cookie and vanilla ice cream, I like the lemon cookie/vanilla combo.

I also like to take store-bought cookies and make my own. Soften the chocolate ice cream a little, scoop it between two white chocolate ship cookies and roll the edges in chopped nuts. Refreeze. Repeat using different flavors and cookies.

Oh, my goodness!  I've never heard of a lemon cookie/vanilla combo version!  That sounds wonderful!

I was asking about the pictures, because I finally read a newspaper account of the October 19, 1942, traffic stop that started all of the trouble for Frances Farmer.

She was stopped at Pico Blvd. and 16th St.

Imagine my surprise to see that at one corner of that intersection is Woodlawn Cemetery......it's my guess that the policeman were waiting on 14th Street in front of the Cemetery....

I am adding an opening scene to my play so that we get to see the title actress in the beginning.....

So now of course it will be titled Four Arrests of Frances Farmer which has a nice alliterative lilt to it.

Just filed a claim with the insurance company, they gave me a list of their approved shops and I chose one that's only a couple of miles from here. They'll call me by end of day tomorrow, and then I'll set up the appointment sometime after Tuesday next week. Don't have any idea how long it will take. I'm not gonna rent a car - I'll just Uber places.

The last time I had to take my car in (to the dealer...there was a problem with the dashboard and it had to be replaced), I got a loaner for as long as they needed to keep my car.  It was quite the convenience.

I went to my mom's (my niece was there, too) and helped her with some things, then I did a little shopping, then had to go to my sister's, and then came home after that.

And speaking of burritos, today at my mom's, she made us some of her "enchiladas," which are essentially frozen bean and cheese burritos smothered in enchilada sauce and cheese and baked until delicious...and they were.

I did. A pint of Little Debbie Nutty Bars jumped into my cart.
