No, no time off, DR Freddie. Just a little less frazzled.

Less frazzled can be very nice!

And money and employment vibes for Larry, too!

Between “Bayadère" and the Times interview about that, and the work including credit in the "Gypsy" program, may 2024 be seen as a year of accomplishment for you - and hoping those credits help generate even more opportunities in 2025!

But it's the last one of those, because we close next Saturday night.

I cannot remember now when I wrote this arrangement for the New York City Gay Men's Chorus, but it was in the 1980s, during the madness of the AIDS crisis when it seemed the Chorus was singing every week for a memorial service for a Chorus member or a friend of the Chorus. I've never thoght of this wonderful song as a happy holiday song but one about putting on a brave face during a time of turmoil and torment. In that respect, it's still applicable.

Here's a fine kettle of what is it, fish:

We're under a winter weather advisory for tonight through tomorrow morning, for a wintry mix that could include a thin but dangerous layer of ICE. And I have that 7:30 a.m. choral rehearsal in the morning. I've emailed the director as to how to handle, since there could even be school delays. And even if not, they need to know that I might not be able to get out of my own driveway till later.

I slept very well last night.  I think I needed that sleep, too.  The week was a bit anxiety-ridden with the cataract surgery, etc.  I knew it wouldn't be an issue, but it's the getting things done that cause the anxieties.

I have done relatively little in the way of getting ready for Christmas, sorry to admit.

I have yet to mail any cards.  I did put some flameless candles in my front windows yesterday, and they are more than seasonal and lovely.  This afternoon, I'll be hanging my ginormous wreath on the front porch.  That will be IT, decor-wise.

The wreath is "ginormous" (to me) because it's meant to be hung over two doors.  I place it on the wall between two front windows.  It stands out quite nicely, and it's lighted, too, with a timer, so...

Today, I have my weekly Zoom chat with like-minded individuals from across the country, the pond (Great Britain) and from the furthest reaches east and west (Pakistan).

We are a lively bunch.

At noon today, this month will be half over.  HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?

It seems like Thanksgiving was only a week ago (it was two weeks this past Thursday, though).

And no matter how hard a wish I make, I don't seem to be able to prevent January 20th from getting here any time soon.

I live in hope that nature will take her turn in the matter, but...

The pre-service coffee hour is nice, but it gets busy, with all the stuff that has to be hauled over from the kitchen -- juice, cups, yogurt, cheese sticks, granola bars, spoons, plates, fruit, coffee, hot water, etc. Plus whatever baked things there are -- muffins, donuts, cookies, etc. And all the serving items.

I am going to petition for a small dorm fridge in the office for the stuff we keep hauling back and forth. It's ridiculous.

I have finished kitty cleanup and a bit of residual cleanup from last night's mess in the bathroom. Annabelle is not happy this morning. She's been scolding me for over an hour. When I pick her up and hold her, hjer purring goes into overdrive, and when I set her down, she begins yelling again.
