I remember in the early 70's, I think, Donald O'Conner had a talk show.....one day his guests were Rod Serling and Keefe Brasselle who had written a "novel" about his experience at CBS.
Rod was talking about his appearance in one of his movies - he had a cameo.
Finally he just started laughing and Donald asked him was was funny. Rod said: "We are. Look at us - a writer trying to an actor, an actor trying to be a writer, and a hoofer trying to be a talk show host."
