DR LAURA I look at all of the fast Food coupons that come in the mail....you can usually find a bargain in there.

I was feeding a picky American 6-year-old. It's  a McDonald's chicken nugget Happy Meal. Only.

I didn't think you were eating it ;D

Guess who else brought in the New Year by enjoying ill health?

And who's got the POSITIVE TEST RESULT to prove it?

Nathan.

He'd been to NJ to visit his mom and other family, got back on New Year's Eve, and immediately started feeling crappy. Yesterday he just kept feeling crappier during the TZ marathon, and decided to test. The other two of us are FINE, thankyouverymuch, and he's starting to feel a little better today, but it looks like he'll get to miss some work. Which he won't mind doing at all.

Get well quick vibes for Nathan and stay well vibes for the rest of you.

Wow George, that was terrible service at Applebees.

I know!  Normally, it's rare that that happens, but to have it happen to one person the three times she comes to a place?  That's completely unacceptable!

And rather shocking.

Their system was down so I had to deposit the cash in the ATM but it worked fine and credited immediately.

That's great that it worked out that way.

Here's something I wonder about:

Is it possible on Facebook to stop allowing comments on your posts by new people, or by people you aren't FB friends with? It bugs me when there are people I'd love to occasionally give a positive or otherwise supporting comment to, and there's no way to comment or sometimes even to send a friend request.

Does one's account simply "fill up" and no more can be added, or can people turn those features off when they're tired of accepting new ones?

I don't know how to do that, however, I have seen where people shut off the comments to a post.

I got a Spanish film on DVD that I have wanted to see for a while: Javier Bardem in Los Lunes al sol (Mondays in the Sun). Sadly there are no subtitles, only Spanish.

Finished futzing and finessing and then  writing two new pages. Having the little bit of tuna pasta salad right now, then have a phone conversation at two, then I'll continue writing and get at least eight more pages done. I know exactly what happens in those pages so hopefully I can get that done. The computer is behaving so I haven't shut it down yet, and I'm saving every time I write something new.

Yes, accounts can fill up (something like 5,000 friends, I think), and pages at least can turn off comments from new people.

Then I began futzing and finessing - got about six pages done when the computer began acting like it was going to crash. I think everything got saved okay, so I'm going to just force quit and shut it down before it actually freezes up, which is what it did as I was writing a new sentence.

Yikes! :o

Thanks to all for the vibes.

My sister whose daughter, husband, and grand daughter were visiting from Maryland this week....brought me a nice plate of food prepared by her other daughter - mashed potatoes, chicken breasts, macaroni shells and cheese.  She is really a good cook!

I could eat about half of it and saved the rest for tomorrow....there are also cupcakes and a slice of cake.

LOL. What I meant was when feeding a picky American 6-year-old, it's always McDonalds. Always. Even if Grandma has a coupon elsewhere.

Today's Big Ass Salad: Meatball salad with Meyer lemon and cilantro dressing.

Not sure about the combination. How was it?

It was good, considering it was something I threw together from what was here in the house.

Chas, you can set your posts so only certain people can see it. Such as friends only, certain friends only, people tagged, and friends of people tagged.
