I made some glop today - in spite of my diet.

Glop sounds like it must be really tasty!

TOD:  If you define dinner party loosely as any gathering where dinner is served (as opposed to open house type parties where people come and go), I think the biggest dinner party people-wise would be one which involved HHW people.  I believe fried chicken and deviled eggs were somewhere on the menu.  Maybe also shrimp and franks in a blanket appetizers?

DR Iris, Botanical Garden does luminarias along the paths during December. Phoenix Zoo does Zoo Lights.

We've gone to Zoo Lights in the past; this year the family was sick most of December.

I used to have dinner parties for Noche de los Rabanos. People would bring in various radish dishes (or not). I would make enough food for 30 and that’s about how many came one year. I can’t handle that anymore. I would usually order a smoked turkey and do up a half dozen appetizers like beer cheese, raw radish ravioli, shrimp salad, deviled eggs and the like. There were are plenty of desserts. I remember a friend making a lamb curry with radishes. Another friend made radish sculptures. Plenty of wine. It was fun.

Bronx Zoo has a really nice holiday lights festival, but we haven't gone to it since way before the pandemic. We're planning on it next year.

Kristi and Nathan worked it one year, helping to put up lights.

My glop is one box of bowtie pasta or rotini - whichever one is closet to its use by date.

I chop up a green pepper and put it in a skillet then add one or two pounds of ground beef......I didn't have a one pound package so I had to use the two pound one.

I add about four thick slices of Velveeta to the drained pasta and a few slices of American cheese.....then I add the meat and then top if off with some Manwich and stir it up real good......and I'm good until probably Friday.

Wow. Manwich, too?

This is sounding like my kind of comfort food.

I haven't been out since Sunday.  I think there's about 6 inches of snow, but the icy roads are the worst part.

I'm hosting a gathering tonight. The speaker is going to speak about big cats: lions, tigers, panthers, bobcats, etc.

From DR Iris:

Quote
I am a towering 4 feet 11 3/4 inches.

I wasn't that tall when I first met Bruce in high school.  I entered at 4 feet 10 inches.  When I graduated I was 5 feet 2 1/2 inches.

I grew a bit more after I was married and made it to 5 feet 3 1/4 inches.  Keith laughed at my always says that quarter inch so it made me smile to see you do not round out your heighth :)

I'm now 5 feet 3 inches.
