It was a really good vegetable box this week. It even included a loaf of Ezekiel bread. That's expensive stuff!

Wow, that’s great, DR Laura! I always eat Ezekiel bread, and have for many years.
What variety did you get? It’s usually sold frozen.

It says "Flax."  I did make a sandwich, which is not on my low carb diet. I will probably feed my daughter a grilled provolone cheese sandwich after church tomorrow and send a few slices home with her.

There's a restaurant supply grocery store nearby, and he's good about finding the things they mark down.

DR Laura, is this store open to the general public?
I have a friend in Phoenix who would really appreciate it.
May I share the location and information with her? Thanks!

It's in Tempe. It's called U.S. Chef.  McClintock just north of Southern.

He picks up a 3-pound bag of baby lettuce for under $8. Last time I checked, it was about $6 per pound in the grocery store.

It's a great place to buy a pound of fresh herbs for $5.

Most of the stuff is way too much for household use. It's like Costco on steroids. But my DH eats a lot of swiss cheese, and he's pretty good about finding stuff that's marked down.

I agree on Just in Time. A little Dean Martin goes a long way with me.

Ditto and ditto.

I went back to Iris’s recipe for Swiss Cheese and Onion Pie. It calls for 1 box of chopped onions. ???? Anybody know? I guess I can Google it.

I was wondering about that, too. :-\

He was describing the beauty of Hawaii, and mentioned that when he arrived, he was greeted by a beautiful woman who proceeded to give him the customary Hawaiian lei.
Afterwards, she placed flowers around his neck.

Went to the mail place and then Gelson's, where I got two little things of fried fish and tartar sauce, some creamy tomato soup, a tiny bit of lobster salad. Everything but the soup was TERRIBLE and I'm now ever so nauseous. And this was the good Gelson's.

Oh, no! :P

So, I learned in the meeting today that one of the parsonages in our District burned down. The minister lost everything. The church is about two blocks away and still stands. Pasadena.
