I woke up way too early this morning, read for a bit, and thankfully fell back to sleep. I don’t recall any dreams, but they’re always there.

I’d almost forgotten this because of my screwed up days, but today at noon I’ve got a movie to see at the Bedford Playhouse:  a silent film, THE BIG PARADE (1925). I’d watched the Blu-ray recently in preparation, thank goodness, because it’s a 2-1/2 hour one I want to be able to appreciate seeing there and I wouldn’t want to walk in cold on something like that. Looking forward to it, it’s been too long since my last visit there, thanks to my November and December activities.

It's a great "side eye" photo, though!

Singdaw's "National Curried Chicken Day" alert has sent my taste buds into overdrive.

A heaping pile of said chicken on a bed of white fluffy rice would be wonderful!

It's 8:30 a.m., however, and I haven't had brekkies yet.

It is Sunday, January 12th, 2025 in Johnston SC, CSRA.

It is 23 F, the ground is white with frost, and the sun is shining.

Today is my weekly Zoom chat with a group of friends who have been meeting since about three months into the COVID pandemic...or, roughly, more than four years.

Glad that DR ELMORE is having a good day.

I remember the Lennox Sisters on Lawrence Welk.

I am watching a few more episodes of ROUTE 66 which is entertaining but can also be a bit full of itself.....especially the titles.

I remember the Lennox Sisters on Lawrence Welk.

They were great, alongside Robby and Prissy, Nora Ziffel, et. al.

I think they tried to jazz up those titles because of the great music for the show's theme.

I started Han Kang’s disturbing novel Human Acts last night. It’s about shocking political unrest in South Korea and the violence is quite graphic. I thought I was going to dream about it. Instead, I had bad dreams about doing the daily Octordle. Or trying to do it since my hands were not available. And it wasn’t working just to use my mind.

I'm glad the hot water thing worked on the drain.

I got an email from church saying the heater wasn’t working, so I stayed home to watch online. Apparently the people working on fixing the heat jostled the camera, so it’s not online anymore. I feel sorry for all involved.

Well, fellow HHW'ers.

DR JEANNE's sound advice worked like a charm.  As I said, I dipped the standing water from both sinks.

I poured a spaghetti cooker full of boiling water in the sink with the main drain.  And waited....but not even 5 minutes.  And the drain was working like crazy.

Just for insurance, I did it twice more.

DR JEANNE saved me probably $200 or more!  I highly recommend the technique to anyone who has a similar problem.

That your fellow DRs can save you money - that could make it even more likely that HHW will be the most popular site on the internet!

I can barely pay for food for myself and the cats these days.

Have you tried the Entertainment Community Fund (formerly known as the Actors Fund)?

With your 2024 credentials of being interviewed in the Sunday Times Arts and Leisure section for the ballet, and your credit in the GYPSY program, now might be a particularly great time for your making a request there.

Two HUGE soup stock pots of boiling water down the bathroom sink drain seems to have done the trick.
