I slept well, most of the night. I dreamt I was sorting clothing for a drive and I balked when we were asked to include some ridiculous items with the clothing. The weirdest was a pair of dogs with each outfit. And not all of the dogs were friendly. And nobody seemed to care that we were giving unhoused people dogs or that there was no food to feed the dogs.

The neighborhood streets were a bit slickery, but the main roads were okay.  The parking lots were neglected.

I don't count a shopping trip during s**w to be over and successful until ALL of the items are in the house.

So today....SUCCESS!

It's ridiculous how accustomed I've gotten these past couple of weeks to temps in the single digits and teens.

It's disgusting, actually.

Next week looks to be promising for some thawing, but we'll see.

You know what? It's Wednesday, and BK knows this stuff. By God, I'll Ask BK!   :)

It's a stupid tech question, because I apparently need to relearn something I already knew:

On newspapers.com I want to see if they have such-and-such a newspaper for certain years, and I can't make the search functions do what I think they should do. Examples - for Cleveland, OH:

The Plain Dealer - Do they have anything in 1967-1972? I'm thinking they don't, but nothing that appears on my screen just tells me what they have or don't have. I get thumbnails of a bunch of other papers, which probably means no, but ... ?

Cleveland Press, same years...

Otherwise, I'm so glad I got the subscription. It's worth it, if only for the LA Times and my Florida papers. Not doing so well on the Ohio and Connecticut front thus far.

DR CHAS SMITH I have tried the same thing at newspapers.com and the search function is NOT the most sophisticated.  It is not easy to narrow down what you want....but sometimes just playing around with it a bit, you can get what you want.

And of course by then you've done so many steps, it's easy to forget how you got there.

I'm so glad you posted this, because I honestly thought today was Tuesday. We would have left our poor grandchild unclaimed at school this afternoon.

I walked to the grocery store this morning to pick up a couple of things, including some bagels for the homeless guy at the corner.

I realized I forgot to put stuff back in my pockets this morning, and I had not a penny.

Back to Thelma. What a joy. Even throw-away lines, like an old lady describing a production of Swan Lake set during the Korean War, have made me lol.

Quick recovery vibes for Jane and John G!

Thank you.  I tested positive this morning, however, the line was very faint.

I was tempted to return to the gym today wearing a mask.  A few people I talk to there have health issues and I don't want to risk passing something along.

Keith has new computer/reading glasses to pick up before the gym and I didn't want to wait in the car when it is cold out.

It was fun to see Nathan Fillion from CASTLE and THE ROOKIE (also FIREFLY before those) pop up in the second season of THE RECRUIT.

Oh, that would not have been good.  Does he go to your house after you pick him up or do you take him home?

Have you been able to return for the items you left behind?
